Police Activity in Downtown Herndon???

Anyone know what all the police activity is in downtown Herndon currently? My wife just called and said there are a number of streets blocked by police in area of Elden Street near Five Guys and Safeway. Office environment not really suitable for listening to police scanner, so wondering if anyone else has any info. Thanks.

I'm quite certain some illegal got hit crossing in the middle of the street. They do it all the time right there.

It was a bomb threat at the Atrium Building. Fx Co Bomb Squad determined that it was a fake

Suspicious package in Herndond no longer a threat
Incident closed main artery in town for nearly two hours

After investigating a suspicious package that halted traffic in downtown Herndon for nearly two hours Monday afternoon, Fairfax County’s Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team determined it poses no danger.

According to Herndon police, the suspicious item turned out to be non-threatening.

“It was a hand-made package wrapped up in tape that turned out to be a piece of trash that may have fallen off a truck,” said Lt. Ron Thunman of the Herndon Police
