Hi-I've heard from a couple of people that MS-13 is initiating in this and other areas...They bump into your car and when you get out to check the damage,they shot you.I know this they have done this before so is this old or more recent news...Thanks all!

It's not true. It's actually South Lakes students who are doing this.

When I lived in Annandale there were MS-13 branded (tatooed) thugs all over the place. Never had a problem with any of them. In fact they knew me by sight, I walked the same route through my neigborhood every day. When we approached on the sidewalk they would politely get out of the way and walk in the grass, giving me the whole sidewalk to myself. It's amazing how peaceful your walks through the 'hood become when you have a .45 1911 holstered in open view on your belt.

I'm not sure that's such a bright thing to do. First off, gangbangers mainly prey on each other to start with. But you struttin' by with a .45 on your hip might be taken by them as a challenge.

They might just step out from behind a bush and put a round in the back of your head. You won't know what hit you, much less have a chance to get that boat anchor out of the holster.

I think concealed carry is the way to go in this situation, not openly trying to intimidate a bunch of morons.

I appreciate your opinion on concealed carry Coffin, and it's your right to have it. However, there are advantages to concealed and advantages to open carry as well.

Have you really thought out your statements? Saying someone will hide behind a bush and ambush me... shooting me in the back of the head? I don't know what world you live in but I am self aware of my surroundings when outside my house. Especially if I have a gun on me. I don't walk around with my head in the clouds whisling dixie tunes to pass the time. I know who is in front of me, behind me, and I'm scanning 360 degrees all the time. I'm well aware of all the spots to hide and creep up on someone. This is my old neghborhood, I'm not a visitor who is unfamiliar with the territory.

And who said I was trying to intimidate anyone? I never said that. Criminals prey on weak unprepared victims. When those bangers see me comming they don't see a sheep, they see a sheepdog and they have respect for that. I don't care how badass someone thinks they are, you'd be retarded to attack someone who you KNOW has a firearm at arms reach.

I cant wait for you to get killed and have your gun taken off of you by gang bangers so we can stop hearing about what an easy life you have living in a gang infested hood but you are safe with your openly carried fire arm.

yep.

I just think in in the long run walking around all smug with a gun on your side will end up making you a target for gangs. BUt, it might safe your ass in the short run which kind of makes sense. I concede my previous post.
