I went to Dr. Chung in Oakton, I feel like that experience was such a rip off. I've been using my "neuromuscular orthotic" aka bite-guard and going to a super competent General Dentist for the past two years. Now I've cracked my bite-guard and my Dentist wasn't comfortable doing anything about it, it's not his specialty, and referred me to someone in Falls Church whose card I've misplaced. But not before calling to set up an appointment. They commented that it would be an upfront fee, probably not reiumbursable from insurance, of $150. Ok, I was on board with that. They call me back a few weeks later on the day before my appointment to tell me that even though I was clear in my presentation of symptoms, that they misquoted me, and it would actually be $500 upfront. I told them that this change in tune was a red flag and to please cancel my appointment.
I'm sitting here with my jaw tense and achy and the grooves in the two molars that I haven't had root canals on getting deeper. Any suggestions for competent TMJ Specialists in the area who won't rip me off?
