We'll probably never know unless someone posts here. The Junkies podasts are a day behind, and whatever happened won't be on the JFK website ever.
In the real world most of us work in, someone's ass would be fired - but this is radio, I doubt anything's gonna happen.

My opinion, fire all of them and cancel the Junkies. Junkies were cool to listen to back in their golden era, early 2000's. Then when they moved to WHFS someone released the go monster and suddenly, ta-dah, not funny anymore and they acted like arrogant douchebags. WHFS turns into Mexican radio so they move back to WJFK with the same attitudes just bruised egos to go with them

If the PD (Chris Kinard) is on site, I'd bet it was his call so the station wasn't embarrassed. JFK isn't in the Fairfax outpost any longer, most of CBS radio operations are in Landover, so I'm guessing there's plenty of management on site or listening.

I'm pretty sure those two legitimately hate each other at this point. Obviously they were very good friends growing up, but my guess is between JP leaving his family for a Junkette and just being an all around deush, that has resulted in them just tolerating each other on the show. I also think it's crazy it's crazy that "news" outlets like Dan Steinberg who does the Sports Bog and always quotes the Junkies hasn't mentioned any of this. There is a good 'ol boy sports network in this town that includes the Junkies, the Washington Post, Dan Heller from NBC 4 (who I like), etc. that all fraternizes with each other.

I think EB is more angry that JP fucked up the pussy parade they had with the Junkettes than he is "morally outraged" that JP left his wife for a "bikini pro." These guys had it made! Going out and getting drunk every Friday and Saturday with a bunch of hot "sillies" was part of their job description. Isn't this the same guy who wrote a book about how he becamse a boxer? Sounds like the little douche couldn't even defend himself. I don't condone what EB did at all, it's deplorable, but someone has to look at that whole dynamic and see it doesn't work anymore. Replace EB, replace JP, who cares. Replace all four of them.

I do remember EB saying that he did not throw a punch. He said it at least 3 or 4 times. I guess he said that after he realized what he did on the air. I thought the whole thing was funny when it happened because I didn't think they were serious. If EB let JP get to him that much over that conversation then just change the topic. It is a sports show. It will all be fine by Monday.

Ok, fine, he did not throw a punch. So what did he do, try to choke him? Slap him? What is acceptable? He came across a table at a co-worker with intent to do something, either harm, or scare. If this was any "joe'job", he would be gone, period. no punch? Fine, you're still gone for going across the table at someone, whether it is the board room, or the lunch room, people in civil society do not do this. It seems like CBS DC, specifically WJFK, isn't a place you'd want to work.
Years ago Don Geronimo (Mike Sorce) had a beef with mid-day talker Peter Rosenberg and went on air saying he had confronted Rosenberg and told him if whatever was going on continued he would start in on him (Rosenberg) and he wouldn't be responsible for the outcome.
Then there's the legend/rumor/myth that Geronimo/Sorce threatened the Junkies with a baseball bat over some beef/slight.
I guess because this is 'radio', these antics are allowed by CBS management because they can be interpreted as "bits" - but by any measure it's a hostile working environment when an acknowledged physical attack is allowed to occur with no consequences.
At least one of the idiots has to go, in this case I'd vote for EB, and that would leave Cakes and Luchee to endure JP until one of them snaps and takes a swing at JP. Well, it would only be Lurchee, Cakes would have the balls to take a swing at anyone...
