Ok - I by no way shape or form live in a rural part of FFX County. I live not to far from Fairfax Circle (1 mile away from the Vienna Metro). The Deer population in my residential neighborhood has exploded. Literally I drive home at 6pm and there are 8 deer strolling through my neighborhood - not afraid of pedestrians or cars. They sh*t in my backyard and pee in my front. What was once quaint is now a pain. What recourse do I have against these vermons?
Can I kill them?
Call I call the county?
What can I do?
Help please.

This is happening in McLean, too. I said it will be fun and quaint right up to the point where some 16 y.o. wrecks his/her mom's $70,000 SUV because of deer in the road . . .

Hey dumbass, deer don't live that long - the deer infesting these neighborhoods were certainly NOT around 300 years ago when this area became a gridlocked suburban mess. Twenty years ago, there were almost zero deer in this area. Most reports say there are more deer now than there was at any time in the past. Which means more starvation and more collisions with cars, thanks to the end of hunting.

You can legally hunt them on your property without a license until March 31 (See http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/hunting/urban-archery/). If you kill more than 6, you'll need to buy bonus permits. Note that in Fairfax County, you must use a bow. Here's what you need to do...

Saw 2 healthy sized deer lying dead on the shoulder of route 50 west bound on Monday night right before the Virginian Old folks home. Did the OP have a hand in this?

Yes, you can kill them. Urban Archery Hunting Season runs through the end of march in Fairfax County. You can use either a bow or crossow. You cannot use a gun unless you are on 20 acres of land. Just make sure you buy your hunting permit online before you kill anything.

Virginia would support deer birth control before they would let adult women in the state to chose birth control. Fucked up!

I like Heloise Hint's post, but you don't need to get up early to 'hunt' the deer around here, just prop up on a lawn chair in your yard and wait. They'll come, morning, noon, and night.
