Centreville HS Soccer Coach Fire

The c'ville boys socer coach, Brian Cochran, was fire this week for sending a female student love letters and text messages. He was also relieved of his duties as the assistant athlectic director. Does anyone have the scoop? The school is really keeping the details hush-hush???

She is a LAX player & cheerleader. There's too many conflicting rumors amongst the students to know what's true. And, the administration isn't telling the faculty anything (as they shouldn't because it is not fair to the accused).

Her story better be examined thoroughly as she's not exactly a model student. Just ask her teachers.

Plus, she's the one who took the blame for alcohol at homecoming a few months ago so one of the "star" football players wouldn't be suspended.

wow- if my memory serves me right- Steve's team went sub-500 for the season. Boys hated him and wanted Lanigan back. I do believe the same team went undefeated last year with Lanigan back at the helm.....hmmmm

Not defending the coach.... but this girl is trouble and has been for years. I heard that she stalked him and had an obsession... I guess he eventually caved...He had personal problems (messy divorce- wife left him abruptly fpr another man) so was he was probably very vunerable.

Assistant coach is a great guy who really cared about the kids and C'Ville soccer (unlike Cochran, btw...). He really got shafted by scared CVHS administration. Centreville's loss. Heard the new guy is a jerk.

Wow, Lee coached a young team and improved them from the record the year before when Lannigan was at the helm. When Lannigan got back he had a senior heavy team with experience and they had a great year. Experience in a young district is very valuable. Both are great coaches though, I'm not saying Lee is better than Lannigan but you can't judge a coach by his record in high school when he only coached a year or two as it is so dependent on the players.

The admin at C-ville could have done a better job with the returning players and the parents. The varsity assistant coach did get a sock in the gut. He used to meet with all the 8th graders at the local middle school to talk about playing in high school and passed out information.

I no a player he gave a pair of his shoes to on the team that needed thm and another guy he bought freakin' shoes and shinguards for 'cause he couldn't afford them. Weren't exactly stars these guys.

Maybe Centreville already got lucky, the new coach seems far better than the old coach, my son has played high school soccer for three years and says the new coach is the best coach he has ever had. The team seems to be doing very well and at the end of the day what matters is that the players are well looked after.

Was at last nights game against Steve's old HHS team. CHS team (and season) looked a little rough and lost 3 to 0. Score could have been worse. Steve Lee was almost (should have been) ejected.
