Tax question

All the previous years I have simply filed a 1040ez form along with the regular state tax form(forgot the number) and got my refund as expected. This year I have donated a vehicle to the purple heart and they said I can have claim a deduction up to $500. Does anyone know how to claim a donated car or is there a separate form?

you have to itemized your deductions

you actually might not get anything at all. Should have sold it privately.

You can't deduct it unless you itemize, and if you're using the 1040ez, I'm guessing you probably don't earn enough to make itemizing worth it.

You need to use Schedule A to itemize, and can't file on the EZ form, if my above assumption is incorrect.
