Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
I've decided to put the lawn tractor up on blocks and get a landscaper next year. Anyone know of a good lawn care/landscaping company that can do lawns/chemicals/mulch planting beds/etc that shows up when expected, does a good job, and doesn't charge an arm and a leg? I can judge the outcome from my neighbor's services, but any insight into price and customer service is appreciated. Service is North Reston area.
I think you'll find that the companies that do cutting/trimming don't really provide chemical service. Not sure why... but anyways I ended up using two different companies:
- Chemicals: TBI (http://www.turfbuilders.com/) - very happy with them but they're on the expensive side - 5x $220 for 2/3 acre.
- Lawn cutting/trimming: LawnGreen (http://www.lawngreensolutions.com/) - not so happy with them but they're dirt cheap - $50 twice-monthly for 2/3 acre mowing/trimming.

Look, you dumb polesmoker, read it again, it's exactly what he said. He's so cheap he doesn't care if his lawn service is shit cause he's saving a buck.
