I was eating at the long John silvers in Dale city
yesterday and while I was sitting down eating, I
saw some very disgusting stuff. When I walked in,
an employee was Packing down the trash with her
hands, she then walked straight behind the counter
to make my drink and serve other people food, I
watched her, she did not even pass a hand washing
sink on the way. The same person was then eating
chicken wings, slobbering all over them and her
fingers, in between stepping behind the counter to
take orders and serve people their food and drink.
I don't know what kind of filthy person does such a thing
without thinking to wash their hands but I am
disgusted. I've been in food service for 10 years
and I understand the importance of washing your
hands, especially after touching your own saliva
And/or garbage.

It was the pregnant one, think her name's Ashley,
I you dare to go there, don't let her touch your
stuff, if I saw her doing all that, who knows
where those hands have been. It SUCKS that this
happened because I LOVE LJS. I only eat seafood
and I enjoy going there for a fast food treat.
I'm never going back to this one, I've had bad
experiences with the delinquents that work there
before, but this one tops it all off. Hope I've
saved you guys some food poisoning. And to all
trolls, I'm not a 'concerned parent' I'm a young
bartender, just wanna help people stay away from
this shitfest.

This is fairfax county where we are all yuppies. We wouldn't even consider stepping foot in to that nigger city they call dale city. My yuppie friend goes there occasionally, its a pain since he has to get his bmw m3 washed every time he drives through that dirty city.

It's actually delicious, this specific one is a shitfest.

LJS-what do you expect? The one in Tyson's is nasty as well.

FYI this goes on in many kitchens in restaurants you just dont see it openly like at LJS because the prep is done behind kitchen doors. The hires are paid minimum wage, the wait staff below minimum wage. You think if some short order cook drops something on the floor he doesnt pick it up and put it back on the plate.

Restaurants are busy places and the manager has little time to check on the kitchen staff as he is busy with aholes customers bitching about poor service and undercooked/overcooked food.

I always check on the health department reports before going into a place I am not familiar with. You would be surprised at what they find.

The last time I checked Dale Shitty was in PWC. Please read where to post comments.

Dale city is not in Fairfax county.

I install, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment for a living.

Thus, I'm in restaurant kitchens each and every day, usually while the restaurant is open. I refuse to eat in ANY restaurant because much of what I've seen would gag a maggot. Ironically, some of the worst filth and/or gross behavior by employees has been in middle to high-end restaurants, so don't delude yourselves into thinking they are cleaner than mom & pops or fast food joints, which are often cleaner.

For obvious reasons I won't comment on specific restaurants (you would be VERY surprised). I only share this info with close friends and family that insist on eating out, despite the risks.

I drop something on the floor, I pick it up, look at it, pop it back to whereever it was supposed to go.

Got a little greasy grime over there a half centimeter below an edge? - no problem - all food is at least a half centimeter above it so who cares?

Storing meat in the fridge above a salad? I can live with that.

Water tempeature a little cool for washing that wok? Say what!? Wash a wok!? No way! Rinse it out, brush it off, put it back on the shelf/stove for next time. You do NOT wassh a wok - ever. (Nor cast-ron frying pan, for that matter)

MY kitchen is far, far cleaner than any restaurant kitchen I've ever serviced, and that's hundreds of them in DC, MD, VA, & PA.

But yeah, I agree that most people are pigs. I have good friends at whose homes I definitely wouldn't eat.

Long John Silver sucks to begin with. Dale City is a dump. Put the two together and you get a place to avoid. I avoid Dale City as a whole personally and can't imagine ever stopping there to eat.

There is nothing new about what you saw at the LJS. It happens all the time at food facilities.

I was in Silver Diner which I considered to be clean...a worker was cutting strawberries, no latex gloves and one strawberry dropped on the floor...he, Hispanic, picked it up and put it in the bowl to be served. When I mentioned it to him, he just laughed. When I told the manager, Asian, he laughed and told him not to do it again....I did not have to pay for my meal.....this is a disgrace...no one knows or is concerned about hygiene. THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO KNOW THIS...THEY PROBABLY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT either....EVERYBODY IS NASTY!

This sort of thing happens everywhere, even at nice restaurants.

Its best not to think about it.

Just stay away from Dale City all together. James Cetto was from there.

When I was in high school in the 80's I worked at the LJS on route 7 in Falls Church. The staff was pretty much all high school kids and all we did was screw off. There was this one kid who used to spend his time catching flies and if he caught one,he would batter it up and cook it, then throw it up in the bin the battered fish and chicken planks.

I think LJS took the chicken peg legs off the menu.(drum sticks) I used to eat a ton of those.
