CHANTILLY, Va. - Virginia middle school students, some as young as 12-years-old were caught drunk at school.

It happened Thursday morning at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School in Chantilly.

Investigators say the students were in various states of intoxication.

Six students had consumed alcohol just before the start of the school day and one of them was seen drinking on the bus.

The person who saw it told administrators.

Around 10 a.m., one of the students who had been drinking went to the school clinic because they felt sick. The other students eventually came forward.

None of the students needed medical attention

Lunsford MS is in Loudoun County.

That would be Loudoun County not Fairfax Co.

Maybe next time those obnoxious children will learn to do their drinking and drugs after school. Serves them right.

Well I am willing to bet money at least half of the kids who attend that school have Fairfax County origins. So there.

Whoever told teachers about the drinking did the right thing. Middle schoolers have no business in such actions. Neither do high schoolers but middle school is just way too young. Were that my child involved I'd appreciate knowing and having an opportunity to put him/her back on a right path.

Anyone who advocates drinking by a middle schooler is a loser beyond hope. Anyone who tries to introduce such things to my child at that age is guaranteed a life in a wheelchair - at best.

First, it doesn't say Fairfax County, it says Chantilly and technically the South Riding area of Loudoun County before it was developed was always known as Chantilly because it has a Chantilly zip code.

I remember a few kids in high school that usually came to school with a buzz on. It didnt seem to be the big deal it is now. I think the teachers and admin just knew a few of the kids were going to be losers/alcoholics in life and it was to be expected. As Judge Smails opined the world needs ditch diggers too.

These students will go to Freedom High School, not Westfield.

I believe at least one teacher was arrested there recently for drunk in public during the school day.

According to the Washington Post, Eastern Loudoun and Western Fairfax will have the highest job growth rates in the region over the next 10 years.

Since the birthday cut off for starting Kindergarden in Loudoun is August 31st, I am sure there are many 12 years olds in sixth grade at Lunsford.
