That's the one I always go to, because of the decorations.

I may be remembering incorrectly but when I saw the thread I thought at first it was an old thread bumped. Wasn't there a fire at that Shell a few years ago?

Me too, but not for the decorations. I go because that's the Shell station that Tom Davis' stepdaughter robbed. I like it when Republicans keep it simple!

The Shell station at Rt.50 and Annandale Road had a fire a few years ago. It has since be torn down.

What do you expect? AOL/Huffington Post don't pay their content creators anything.

It doesn't look bad at all. There is plywood over the bay doors and over the stor windows. There is an RV parked in front of the storfront part of the building, but overall, no signs of fire (blackened walls, collapsed roof).

RV belongs to the Arabic dude that normally lives behind the counter. Since his home was burnt, he's now forced to go mobile.

That place rips people off on repairs! "Chris" is the guy who runs the repair shop and he over charges like its no joke.

I can see someone getting beyond pissed for the bill he passed on to one of his customers, and setting the place on fire.

That's what happens when you rip people off.

I remember filling up there back in October of 2010 and saw a guy in the middle bay smoking a cigarette. I snapped a picture at the time and was going to blog about stupid shit people do but never followed up on it. Smoking at a Gas Station has got to be up there. You can barely see the guy as he had turned away but can almost make out the cigarette in his right hand. Shitty pic - maybe that is why I never blogged about it.

Did you know that you can drop a lit cigarette into a bucket of gasoline and it will not ignite? The actual act of smoking at a gas station holds very little risk. Intact, the only reason it is outlawed is because while a lit cigarette is relatively harmless, the spark caused by the ignition of a lighter does supply the neccesary energy to ignite gas vapors.

Fun facts.

ChristyT is right. When I was in high school I worked at a gas station and the old guys there use to smoke all the time. I think everyone who worked there smoked except me. One guy would even set his lit cigarette on the gas pump while he filled the car up. We never had anything happen.
