Herndon Police Arrest Man for Sexual Assault
Police arrested a man who forced himself into the victim's home before assaulting her.

Herndon Police arrested 37-year-old Victor Hugo Varas Cruz, of no fixed address, on Nov. 17, after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman.

The victim told police that she was familiar with Varas Cruz and he forced his way into her home, held her against her will and sexually assaulted her. He then fled the scene, she said.

After locating him, officers questioned him and later charged him with alleged sexual assault, burglary, abduction and sodomy. Varas Cruz is being held at the Fairfax County Jail.
