Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged Chinna Nasar Reddy Nagendle, 64, 2300 block of Rolling Fork Circle, Herndon, with setting a fire inside an apartment building, Thursday, October 21, 2011.
The fire was started in a second floor apartment located in the 2300 block of Rolling Fork Circle at approximately 6:50 p.m., and was extinguished by an overhead sprinkler. There was minor fire and water damage to the apartment of origin and the apartment below. Residents from five nearby apartments were temporarily displaced. Red Cross support was declined. The call was initiated by an automatic fire alarm activating and bringing firefighters to the scene. There were no injuries.
Nagendle is charged with the burning of an occupied dwelling (Virginia Code 18.2-77, Class 4 Felony).
Damage is estimated at $10,000.
