Cops are inordinately represented among the cheating spouse population. Sad thing is that most of their wives know this to be true.

That said, they are an interesting breed and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they cheated on their spouses more often than general population.

I wouldn't say it's common practice for an officer to have an affair with another officer, but it happens. If you're really concerned about it I recommend this book to read, http://www.emotionalsurvival.com . Like More Complete stated, being an officer isn't just job. When an officer cheats on their spouse, it is typically because the spouse does not support or understand what an officer does and how dangerous this job really is. It's just easier to associate with other officers.

Officer's lose contact with close friends merely because they are an officer. For some officers they can not communicate to their friends like they can with other officers.

Again, I highly recommend you getting a copy of that book I posted. It may be a second language to you since your not an officer, but at least you will understand a little bit of what goes on inside an officer's head.....

OP, are you the same person that started the thread about her co-workers cheating on their spouses? Really, mind your own business. People cheat. Doesn't matter the profession, doesn't matter their marital status, doesn't matter if they 'love' their spouse, invariably people cheat. There are exceptions, but something 70% of married people cheat. Get over it.

I know some female cops (married and single ones) that are willing to sleep with male married cops.

Its like every job, there's always this type of activity. Specially when you work long hours and in harsh conditions. Duh.
