Freak'n Loud Ass Plane Circling Reston for the Past Hour - Get A New Muffler

I don't know if the plane circling Reston for the past hour is doing a survey or what, but could they at least get a better muffler on the plane. Sounds like it's some vintage WW II aircraft.

It's very annoying!

Planes don't have mufflers, maybe that's why its loud

Well that would explain it!

I just realized there was an airshow in Martinsburg West Va over the weekend. Maybe I'm just hearing the planes leaving the area from the show.

Actually, there was a crash 'n burn at one of the air shows in West Virginia this weekend, so they stopped the activities. Not sure if this was the Martinsburg one or not.

Thanks for the link - it explains the crash and that the air show for yesterday, the 18th was canceled.

Certain planes have mufflers (e.g. Cessna, etc.)

Well mufflers on most small planes are just collector boxes for exhaust and to collect heat for the cabin, not like car mufflers which job is to reduce noise. I'm sure some do have noise-reduction mufflers but not most.
