Chickens Slain and Not Eaten

This is very disturbing... Especially when Kentucky Fried 2 piece meals are around 6 bucks now.

Dozens of Chickens Killed in Fair Oaks area

Fair Oaks Police District – Animal Control Officers are investigating a situation involving 32 chickens that were killed and another 46 that are missing from a coop located in the 5200 block of Winfield Road.

Officers responded to the scene around 8 a.m., Thursday, August 18. The chickens had been attacked but officers are not clear on the source of the attack. The chickens, which had been housed behind an electric fence, are described as medium sized and reddish in color. A portion of the fence had been trampled.

If residents see the chickens or have any information on the incident, they should contact Animal Control at 703-691-2131.

If they appear to have been attacked by an animal I'd say it was Coyotes, I've heard that they sometimes kill things like foxes/house cats and other animals just for the sake of killing them.
