Transferring Probation
Posted by: Dave ()
Date: August 07, 2011 02:31PM

I was just placed into ASAP as part of my First Offender Program. I am supposed to meet my officer on the 16th for the first time, but I have to go to school in New York by the 28th at the latest, how long does the process take to transfer your probation from state to state? Would I also have to pay the cost of probation in VA as well as NY?

sorry, hate to be the one to tell you, but you might as well be prepared for applying to mcdonalds, day time tv, friends moving away, and the beginning of a very miserable extended period of time. Because I can ASSURE you that either your school will kick you out for getting in trouble or your PO will NOT let you go to school in New York. As far as going to China forget you even thought twice about that possibility . The closest you will get to China is maybe PF Changs or Wal Mart products if you're lucky. Sorry to be harsh but I am not going to sugarcoat this you fucked up by getting placed on probation and this is the shit that will follow. This is going to hurt!

Prison = Parole Co. Jail = Probation. He did something stupid & If He stays out of trouble He will have a clean record.

I was never convicted of any crime, the 251 disposition basically is a pending guilty plea where you can do 6 months of probation, 6 months suspended license, and 24 hours comm service. After all of it is done your case is dismissed.

Yes, it is possible to have your probation transfered to other state, just talk to your P.O. here and explain the problem. There are many programs they have for probation to fit you.

@OP - listen to what "Been There Never Been Back" says about it - talk to yr PO, not to us.

Whatever they say, that's how it will work - plain and simple

I am going to assume that your passport is already red flagged, considering you most likely notified your probation officer of your intended travel plans if you really need to post here asking if you can travel OUTSIDE of the country in the first place. So my guess is you will go to Dulles, receive your boarding pass after your passport is scanned and red flagged, as you proceed through airport security you will be asked to step aside, afterwards you will be detained and handed over to the FBI or US Marshals for trying to leave the country while on probation, and you will be in deeper shit than you already are. Or if by some slight chance you board the plane to China because they couldn't detain you this will happen. Don't know if we have an extradition treaty with China so US Department of State will REVOKE your US Passport meaning you will no longer be able to re-enter the United States since you won't have proof of citizenship. Afterwards Chinese authorities will be notified of your illegal presence in their country and you will be detained for illegal presence in their country. And it's not like here where if you enter our country illegally you can get money from the government, can lobby for immigration reform, and badmouth the country you entered. No they'll just beat the shit out of you and throw you into a jail the size of a phone booth and feed you the shit that was shit out of where ever it came from and we won't hear from in a very very very long time.

Please go to China. The US will be better without you.

You might to want to contact a lawyer too. Just in case you end up back in prison.
