Mercedes Stalls in Flash Flood on Lawyers Road
Intersection of Hunter Mill Road, Lawyers Road is flooded.

Will Green thought if the cars in front of him could get through the flash flood near the intersection of Hunter Mill Road and Lawyers Road Wednesday afternoon, his all-wheel drive Mercedes certainly could.

"Next thing I knew, water was gushing over the hood and stalled my car," said Green, 38, of Falls Church. "I definitely got scared when it was happening because water immediately started coming through the floorboards. That's how deep it was."

Once Green knew his car was no longer moving, he forced his way out of his car, waded through the water and waited for rescue vehicles to come, which they did thanks to a Good Samaritan who helped him put in the call.

"I had no phone. I had just given an exit interview and turned in my cell phone," Green said. "I was on my way to get an iPhone, so of course this happened."

Green predicted the incident took close to two hours to clean up. Around 4:30 p.m., Green's car was being towed and traffic could move freely through area.

"But cars definitely went by me and through the water even after I stalled. It was probably about 50 cars that passed by me and only three cars stopped, and one was my friend," Green said. "I was surprised so many people passed by without offering help, but everything's fine. I'm OK."

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue officials have not yet responded to a request for comment.

So 50 cars made it though but he stalled out? How about he hit the puddle going 40 mph instead of 5 like all the other ppl.

This guy sounds like a saint, I wonder how many broken-down Corolla drivers has he pulled is fancy Mercedes ass over to help in his lifetime? It must number in the hundreds.

He probably learned Spanish just so that he could keep track of what his maid(s) is/are up to while they're cleaning his Reston Condo. This fucking tool and a handful of others made traffic a fucking nightmare yesterday. The only sad part about this story is that he didn't get swept away with the flood waters. At least then he wouldn't have been blocking the road..

Anyone who drives that part of Lawyers Road knows that it floods and floods often. As does the bottom of the hill on Hunter Mill near that old horseback training field. Every summer it floods. I've seen it for over 20 years. You know that clown in the Mercedes knows that and just went ahead anyway. Probably in a hurry since his time is so friggin' valuable.

Yes, your car was fucked up because you were on the way to get an iPhone, not because you were driving on a flood prone road in a storm.

In the article it stated that other cars went around him instead of turning around. I think Nova is full of dicks.
