Anybody notice the numerous dipshits that always try to switch lanes on 236 while waiting at the long ass light in front of Wachovia? I wish a cop would just sit on his bike and write tickets all day long right there. He would probably get more than sitting in the side streets a mile down the road.

It works well if you are used to it; when they made the switch back in 2006 or so I took the time to make a test run on a Sunday morning. Worked fine. Problem is that you have people who don't or can't read signs, and don't pay attention or refuse to adapt. The traffic plan works as long as you don't factor in the human element.

Unfortunately when I go to see a lot of customers, 123 is the only way. I would consider 7100 but it takes me too far west.

When the Town of Providence was laid out, the boundaries ended at North, South, West and East Streets. University Blvd. was orignally called Mechanic Street. Chain Bridge Road was known as Payne Street until the 1960s. The Fairfax surf shop is technically on East Street, but the address in the phone book says 3936 Old Lee Highway.

It's always been North Street - and it's OLD LEE HWY, not Lee Hwy, which doesnt even go anywhere near old town, adolf

It's obvious too many people coming East on 236 still think they have to go "straight" at the Bank - and try and get over into that lane instead of going "around" the town which is faster.
A small "all lanes go through" sign is useless. They need to add to the overhead signs (Quickest Way East on 236) or something like that and those that can read may not try and get over to go straight at the last minute!

It really is faster to go around, everytime I look back at the morons as they sit at the redlight all because they don't understand the sign
