I am not entertained by the dregs of society who aren't funny in real life, so they try to get attention on FFU. (i.e. - 8 out of 10 of the above posters)

nothing, not once have I ever fell in love with anything about this county , or let alone VA or anything on the east coast. the only time I came close to loving anything about this place it was the money, from great jobs, now its just the same cookie cutter bullshit that plagues all the burbs

that was humour about the hillbillies - I like them too, even though some of them are also the ones who cant drive worth shit (hang out at any home depot and you will see what I mean LoLz)
and Great Falls and the Forts I mentioned are National Parks

Gerry, If you want services, you have to pay for them. Fairfax is one of the most affluent counties in the country. You're not going to get municipal employees to work here for peanuts, due to the cost of living and traffic congestion. Also, public employees get pension in exchange for a lower salary than they could command in the private sector.
If you want low property taxes, move to Front Royal, Culpepper, Warrenton, etc. Your taxes are nothing compared to other areas. Go to Nassau County, NY, near NYC. You'll be paying 8-15k/yr in property taxes, maybe more.

I'm not a effing New Yorker. I have lived here most of my life. I receive no County services - Unless you consider paying to educate all the Beaner children a service.
By the way douche - taxes were not that bad until the real estate bubble. My evil twin stuck it to us long time homeowers while touting record low rates.

A few years ago we had some visitors from the rural midwest and they
never see helicopters. Whenever one went over they'd run outside and
look up and ask me what was happening. I told not to worry about it
unless they were hovering over our house with searchlights on us
and there were lots of police and fire sirens coming our way.

I like Clifton Elementary School, the FFX school boundary debates, Cops in FFX City who stalk patrons of local pubs for potential drunk drivers, the traffic excites me too.
I especially love FFX underground -- the posts that occur after someone dies are especially entertaining as the deceased is invariably made fun of and blamed for being a d-bag and the freinds and relatives are shocked by the lack of sensitivity and get into heated forum name calling with those that criticize them. Good times...good times.

I have never understood the seemingly endless devotion to pho. Sure it is a good meal in winter, etc. But it seems that you could just as easily operate a dirty water hot dog stand and transfer the water to the pho pot as you could operate a stand alone "pho" restaurant.

Me loves the free education and free meals for mys babbies. Me loves the food banks and monnies from the tax free lawn an sno removals works I do. All my babbies born for free at the fairfax and uva hospitals are full legal citizen. I love it all. Thank you alls.

They are all over the place, come to Centreville near the Centreville Library. Now we have to deal with Mexican women w/ kids beginning for money in grocery stores, had one approach me at Shoppers in Centreville. She acted like she didn't know English and whipped out this card written in English, she approached other shoppers too. Someone reported her, next thing I see is a manager escorting her out of the store. The shopping center with Giant Food had to hire security to keep loiterers away, what is interesting is that not even those who created the law against illegal immigration is abiding by the law. If they aren't, why should abide by any laws, if illegals can get away with living here 5-10-15-20 years and not pay a dime of taxes, why should we?

What I like about Fairfax County is convenience and living in a neighborhood which is relatively quiet, which is rare in my part of FFx county.
The beggers ... I heard about them. They're comming. They're already here but growing in numbers. The English literacy rate is falling by the minute.
Sad that our government refuses to maintain order and a common language ... our nation is becoming weak.

Since leaving Fairfax:
I love that I don't spend hours in traffic with shit drivers anymore
I love that I don't have to deal with ghetto black people and immigrants everywhere I go in public anymore
I love not having to shovel snow or put up with lousy weather and constant rain anymore
I love being able to go to a wide variety of restaurants instead of a small selection of shitty national chains
I love the higher standard of service provided in public places
I love being able to get out of town on a weekend without having to be stuck on I-95 for the first 2 hours of my trip
I love not having to deal with millennial liberals as my neighbors
I love that I no longer live in Fairfax. Fuck that place.
