Cinco De Mayo Origins....

Many people ask, Pedro why there be a Cinco De Mayo? And Pedro always say...

On May 5, 1862, the Mexican army defeated the invading French army at the Battle of Puebla. Nearly 150 years later, America has embraced May 5 as a day for celebrating Mexican culture and heritage.

Also, it came into being because many years ago we came up with a numbering system, of which 5 is a part. We also came up with a calendar, and named one of those "months" "May" and numbered each day to keep track of what day it was for everyone.

A holiday celebrating the Mexican army beating the French? That's really not all that impressive.
