I really miss hearing Fred Grandy (and his wife) in the mornings. Does anyone know whether he might be broadcasting elsewhere. He is a brilliant guy with quick, spot on analysis.

Fred's contract bars him from doing his radio show on another station in DC for another year or so. He did try to get a show on in Baltimore but that signal went well into the DC area so the lawyers killed that idea.
Mrs Fred, Catherine Mann, is a whacko birther. If you want to listen to nutcases there is always Chris Plante. If you want to listen to pure BS there is always Sean Hannity.

Fred never really cared for his audience. It was just a job to him. He fought tooth an nail to make sure his contract had minimal personal appearances to promote the station. And when did you see him make a personal appearance? Hardly ever!

On a slightly different note, I worked with a girl named Cheryl Hick. She was filed under "C.Hick". Always made me smile when I saw that.

In elementary school, back when people named Richard didn't mind having the nickname Dick, a classmate was Dick Brown. The teacher's seating assignment kept on the teacher's corkboard listed him as "Brown, Dick." We juvenlies thought that was quite funny at the time.

I am not mincing words. Nor am I switching words around or paraphrasing which the talent at WMAL does often. WMAL is a NEWS/TALK station so therefore they should know what they are talking about and know the power of words.
Mr. Duckworths exact words posted on the WMAL website were:
"Andy Parks, a name synonymous with 630 WMAL for nearly 25 years as morning host and airborne traffic reporter, is no longer with us"
If you have a problem with that, contact Mr. Duckworth or the currenty station management and ask a clarification be issued. I left Duckworth a voice mail and sent an an email within an hour after he posted asking if it needed clarification. It was even posted on DCRTV. No changes were ever made.
"In the theater of talk radio, you are allowed to paint with an very wide brush stroke" - Paul Duckworth said that. Andy, no longer with us, does not take such a great leap to know what he meant.
