When I was leaving the western FFX area at 6:15 p.m., my car indicated that it was currently 30 degrees (F).

LOL. Actually, what it means is that we'll be far closer to the freezing line than previously thought, and so the precipitation will likely stay the frozen variety closer to D.C. Also, colder, below-freezing air could hold out at just the right altitude for a serious mess to develop.
