where can i meet new people?

i had to repost this message, but yeah, i am new to the area and I am looking to go out and meet new people. but i am not sure where to go? anybody got any tips? i am 30 yr old single male.

There are some places in Clarendon that are low key kinda funcwe(sp?) that cater to singles in their 30's. Couldn't tell ya the names tho

Spider O'Kelly's in Clarendon is for you yutes
Whitlow's and the place next to it
I like Iota but I doubt its hip and happening for most 20 and 30 somethings
Galaxy Hut
forget the name of the British pub/bar on Glebe in the Ballston commons shopping center
just walk up and down the block in that area lots of different places

not many interesting places in fairfax county imo but you might try Backyard Grill in chantilly ask for the Chantilly King he apparently knows all the right kind of girls

I'm usually in adams morgan or georgetown or u st. corridor or thereabouts, depending on what mood I'm in....I find VA spots to be too cliche and boring...
