Friend of mine died at burke park, his name was Jahed Babi and I want to know what happened.

If he was a friend and you cared for him please have enough respect for him and his family at this time to DELETE your post and not post on a public forum. I'm sure you can understand that it is an extremely difficult time. Please allow them the time and privacy to process and grieve for their loss. The last thing they need are rumors generated over the web or disrespectful commentary/posts from people.

Teen found dead in Fairfax County park -- suspected homicide
December 19th, 2010 10:35 pm ET.

Photo: Burke, Va. --- Fairfax County police are investigating the suspicious death of a teenager who was discovered in a field at the Colonel Silas Burke Park in the 5800 block of Parakeet Dr.

Officer Tawny Wright, police spokeswoman, says the man's body was discovered around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. She said the victim suffered trauma to the upper body.

Police have not yet released the name of the dead man, but Officer Wright said he was 19 years old.

One source says he had been shot multiple times, but Officer Wright would not confirm. She said the department will release more details Monday morning, and at this point have classified it as a "suspicious death."

How do you know he wasn't forced out of his car since it was standing near his body or that perhaps it was friend he trusted, he lived a few houses down? It's not really a field its a small open space with a playground used by the surrounding community -not- a corn field. People cut through it all the time to get to get to the 7-11 or the kfc shopping center right around the corner.

Which of us hasn't made a mistake in our past especially ones that could have landed us in a lot of hot water if caught, Hell I know I have especially during high school and college but now 15 years later I have my degree, a great job, a husband,and 2 wonderful children. To have your life cut so short and never get beyond the mistakes of your youth is tragic. I can't imagine the pain felt by his family and friends especially after reading some of these posts. My heart goes out to them.

not according to the interview from channel 5 by his best friend claiming he was on the phone with him minutes before he was suspected to be murdered

He could have called another friend to make his "deal" and to meet him in the park on the way home. Maybe he did not tell his other friend on the phone what he was up to. Did he carry a large amount of cash? We might never know. It is still sad. Drugs are NOT worth it.

How does a person walk off with one and a half million dollars and no one finds out until years into it? I am not a business owner but there must be checks and balances in place.

BURKE, Va. - Fairfax County Police discovered the body of 19-year-old Jahed Babi at the entrance to Silas Burke Park Sunday afternoon around 12:15 p.m. in the 5800 block of Parakeet Drive in Burke, Va.

The victim lived with his family a short distance away and although they did not want to speak on camera FOX 5 News interviewed friends who gathered together Monday night at the park where Babi was shot to death.

Evan Guerrero said he was Babi's best friend.

"I honestly don't know what to do. I was with the guy day and night and it kills me to not have him here with me anymore," Guerrero said.

Detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident.

On December 20, police in Fairfax County, Virginia discovered the body of Jahed Ahmad Babi, a 19-year-old from Burke, Virginia, in a local park. Jahed lived a short distance from the park in which his body was found.

Jahed graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School and was pursuing classes at Northern Virginia Community College. Ironically, his family fled from Afghanistan to escape years of violence in the country; tragically, Jahed became a homicide victim in the US.

Jahed's family has declined to speak with media. His numerous friends, however, have honored his memory in press accounts and on Facebook. Jahed's friends describe him as smart, genuine and very friendly -- perhaps to a fault. He reportedly excelled in his studies and graduated from high school a year early.

During an interview with a local Fox News station, Evan Guerrero, who described Jahed as his best friend, said "I honestly don't know what to do. I was with the guy day and night and it kills me to not have him here with me anymore. . . ." In another interview, Abraham Wehelie, whose older brother befriended Jahed, said that "My mom set [Jahed] up as a good example of what I should to aspire to."

Social media, such as Facebook, provide additional insight regarding Jahed's relationship with his friends. One friend offered a touching tribute to Jahed following his funeral:
Your funeral was beautiful. So many people cared about you and have known you as the sweet and generous guy that you were. Many tears were drawn, however we know that this isn't goodbye. None of us can go in peace until this guy is caught and pay for what he's done. See you in the afterlife R.I.P
Police have not released a motive or the names of any suspects in Jahed's death. Police, however, describe the murder as an "isolated incident," which suggests that Jahed's killers targeted him.

Comments by some of Jahed's friends suggest that he may have had connections with the "wrong crowd." According to one friend, Jahed "was a good guy with the wrong crowd, the wrong kinds of people who dragged him along to the darker side. . . ." Another friend said that Jahed "was always a good guy, it's just the people he was with . . . ." Regardless of the motive, Jahed was well liked, and his death remains a painful tragedy.
