Herndon police Eclipse

Not a great picture but goes to show that you can't just look for the Crown Victoria headlights in your rearview anymore. Especially with all the new cop Impalas. If anyone has any other cool pictures of Fairfax's finest please post them (yes, even cell phone pics).

the only reason they'd catch any one with that is because no one expects the eclipse to be a cop car. I'll admit they're generally fast, but handling and turning radius sucks like no other, my lifted grand cherokee can turn just as well as it.

ugh. i was afraid car discussion was going to brew up over this.

besides looking like garbage, the fastest 4th generation eclipse was around 200 bhp. so yeah, i guess for those of us with "lifted redneck ass cars" (as you so elegantly put it) we may have a problem, but i know that i won't be having any problems with it if he decides to pursue me through clifton.

i don't get what people see in that gen eclipse. maybe if he was driving an older GST or GSX i'd be kind of worried, but man, people like the shittiest stuff.

Too bad you didn't get a better pic of the mustang in that second to last picture. I saw an unmarked PI today but with DC plates in FFX. Driver had the typical military type haircut. I assume he was with some federal agency although they might have US gov plates for the most part. Maybe capitol/metro police or something.

A Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, which is a version of the Ford Crown Victoria. It has tougher suspension and extra cooling for chases, and all the police hardware. It's the most common police car in the US.

Yea, thats on Wiehle Ave. right dont the street from my house. FCPD will park right in the damn median and he will stand at the light on Wiehle and Sunrise Valley and pull people over at the light for tint, tags, blah blah blah. Its a Stratus I believe. Seen that car like 5 times in 2 months during evening rush hour. Be carefull.

Cute story, but once the ticket is written, it can't be voided.

Either you are fabricating a story, or you will not be laughing when you find yourself before a judge for failure to acknowledge a speeding ticket.

=======

I was once pulled over for speeding back when I was driving a Pinto - at the time I was in a string of cars, trying desperately to keep up so the car behind me didn't drive into my trunk. Prior to writing the ticket, the police officer explained why I was stopped and my clocked speed.

First I grinned, then broke into a full laugh. When he asked what was so funny, I explained that the car was a Pinto - it ran on two chipmunks and a squirrel and the squirrel was on strike. I also noted that I was on an incline when clocked.

Apparently, he understood and let me go with a warning. I think I caught just a glimmer of a smile as he walked away.

Cops can void tickets. That's just what they say when they don't want to rip up your ticket.

I've heard of people contacting the police department and had enough political pull to sit down with the police officer and discuss it.

If a cop wants to drop his charges, he has every power to do so. At the very least, he can choose to not show up in court, in which case the charges are dropped automatically.

I had a meter-maid give me a ticket in one of those metered lots at Bethany Beach. The car next to mine had a ticket with 3:25pm on it, and mine said 3:29. It was 3:32 and I still had 7 minutes on the meter. I told this to the cop, and he pointed at the car next to mine -- "see, by the time people come back, their cars are parked illegally. My gilfriend grabbed the ticket, handed it to me and then got in the car and drove down the street. I still had 5 minutes on the meter. I said, "call your supervisor down here now, and make sure he gets here within 5 minutes to see no car and time still on the meter."

The meter maid took the ticket, scanned it back into his little computer and said "I voided it. Have a nice day."

Your grammar is so bad that you would have no chance of being hired by any local police department. Perhaps instead of partying so much you may want to consider staying home and hitting the books.

WRONG!!! the eclipse was seized from a guy that had driven it out of state to pick up a 14yo that he met on the internet. he then brought her to his home in herndon and chained her up in his basement. i actually work there (for hpd) so i would know where the car came from.

Not to mention this "crazy kid" isn't a popular kid either and is more likely the candidate for McDonald's.

Cops aren't always the smartest of the bunch, but they certainly aren't lowly McDonald's material, either. Especially in this area, you pretty much need a college degree to even be considered a candidate for the police department.

From the few cops I know, they were generally average kids in school, not exceptionally popular, but not exceptionally unpopular, either. Most were marginally connected to the "jock" crowd, usually second and third string on either the JV or varsity football teams and almost always heavy into weight lifting, but also friendly with people in other cliques, even the "stoners". In fact, everyone I went to high school with who later became a cop all smoked a little weed now and again at parties. Especially at all the graduation parties and during Beach Week.

Undercover cars can only radio squad cars for arrests on citizens who are going over the speed limit, its kinda illegal to arrest someone in an undercover car, unless your a crazy cop abusing your authority

In Herndon we also have a '69 rag top Impala cop car, with 100 count Dayton spoke rims and hyraulics. It's been a real hit with the Latinos.
