..so what are some good tips to do an Arrest/Ticket Search to find people who were cited for flying rc planes/driving rc cars in a county park? I found this:

But that could just as well be someone riding a 4-wheel ATV in a park.

They don't cite people, they just tell them to stop. A lot of times they don't care.

Cool, that's what I was trying to figure out. Just moved to the county, want to fly my electric plane, but don't want to get arrested for it.

I have been waiting until the park is empty, or nearly empty, to fly. For what it's worth I'm flying park flyer airplanes, which are electric, weigh less than 2 pounds and fly slow.

If there's any other RC pilots on the board who know some nice flying sites for park flying would love to know.

Stay out of the Federal Parks. The Rangers can be ball busters.

§ 7.96 National Capital Region.

(a) Applicability of regulations. This section applies to all park areas administered by National Capital Region in the District of Columbia and in Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, and Stafford Counties and the City of Alexandria in Virginia and Prince Georges, Charles, Anne Arundel, and Montgomery Counties in Maryland and to other federal reservations in the environs of the District of Columbia, policed with the approval or concurrence of the head of the agency having jurisdiction or control over such reservations, pursuant to the provisions of the act of March 17, 1948 (62 Stat. 81).

(b) Athletics —(1) Permits for organized games. Playing baseball, football, croquet, tennis, and other organized games or sports except pursuant to a permit and upon the grounds provided for such purposes, is prohibited.

(2) Wet grounds. Persons holding a permit to engage in athletics at certain times and at places authorized for this use are prohibited from exercising the privilege of play accorded by the permit if the grounds are wet or otherwise unsuitable for play without damage to the turf.

(3) Golf and tennis; fees. No person may use golf or tennis facilities without paying the required fee, and in compliance with conditions approved by the Regional Director. Trespassing, intimidating, harassing or otherwise interfering with authorized golf players, or interfering with the play of tennis players is prohibited.

(4) Ice skating. Ice skating is prohibited except in areas and at times designated by the Superintendent. Skating in such a manner as to endanger the safety of other persons is prohibited.

(c) Model planes. Flying a model powered plane from any park area is prohibited without a permit.

I fly my electric models in Lee district park, they are nice there (if you stay away of flying over people and use only the empty fields, no gas/glow model there noisy planes aren't accepted), people stop to talk about the planes and they like to see planes flying just be responsible and have at least a park flyer license (insurance).

FCPA has a RC Airplane park, can't remember name of it, but it is right by the SYA field of dreams in cville. off of 29

That started after a guy got blasted by a plane at Baron Cameron park about 20 years ago. Nothing like going for a stroll at the park and getting killed by an airplane model.

I took mine to runway 2 at Dulles Airport. Security is alittle tight, but worth it..

I've been flying my RC Helo all around my yard so far, and I'll try it at a nearby park soon. No one is going to complain, because it's neighborhood park.

I want one.

My son and I run our RC trucks (gas-powered) at Bull Run Regional all the time with no problems- we just find an area where no one is around for a good 100 yards and go! Of course we keep the trucks within our sight so they can quickly be turned around should another child happen upon it. I let other kids take the controls as long as their parents say it's ok and 95% say it's fine. Lots of fun. :)

I have been flying my micros at Poplar Tree Park off of Stringfellow, but I think I need a little more space for my new Super Cub LP and Parkzone Wildcat. Anything around the Chantilly Area? There are a couple of schools in South Riding with nice fields but they are surrounded by houses.

Have been enjoying flying in the area since I first posted this. I've had several people approach me to tell me how cool the planes are. So to everyone who responded, you were right, as long as you keep it discreet (don't fly near other people), and quiet (electric), nobody has a problem with it.

Makes sense, it's only a mile or so away from Hobby Hangar. I wouldn't fly too high there however since it's right beneath the approach for runway 01R at Dulles. It looks perfect for flying ultra micros though.

That is so cool!

When I lived in the centreville part of clifton there were a bunch of those RC plane guys that would make shitloads of noise. I bought a jammer off some chineese website and crashed them one by one. It was awesome.

I want to get a remote controlled Pirate Ship or a battleship to use at the park. I used to ram other people's boats out at Lake Ann in Reston. Needless to say I was invited back.
