The greeks did have AN INFORMATION BUSINESS (with libraries to back it up) which foreign countries would travel FAR to use - a fact - not fiction - that this occurred.
The used "an oracle" (a woman who apparently would go into volcanic tunnel and come out half wacked out) to SPEAK THE INFORMATION - when that information was forbidden.
THE INFORMATION that was forbidden was well known to be "given by foreigners who were NOT allowed to sell/give it". The oracle was used as a facade when selling such information.
