Gravis? (LOL) Isn't this the same thing the guy was talking about on the Greenway a month or two ago?

Reports of Police Impersonators Being Investigated
The Fairfax County Police Department has recently received three reports of possible police impersonators making traffic stops in the county. The vehicle and driver descriptions are different in each case. The incidents have occurred on different days of the week, at different times and different locations. Unmarked vehicles, with blue emergency lights flashing in the dashboard were used in all three cases. The drivers of two of the vehicles were in casual clothes similar to those worn during training. The third stop was made by a person wearing a blue/gray uniform with a shiny belt and badge, but no patches on the sleeves. There were no other crimes committed and no injuries sustained during any of the traffic stops.

The Fairfax County Police Department encourages motorists to abide by all traffic laws. Officers are required to identify themselves and at some point, explain the reason for the stop. If an unmarked vehicle displaying flashing blue lights attempts to stop you in Fairfax County and you are uncertain as to the authenticity of the vehicle,

Pull safely and immediately to the nearest shoulder, out of the flow of traffic
Activate your emergency flashers
Stay in your vehicle and wait for the officer to approach
Ask to see an officer’s credentials if you are in doubt
If you are not satisfied with an officer’s identification, stay where you are, lock your doors, roll up your windows and dial 9-1-1

Yeah, try that and I'll guarantee he'll prove his identity to you in the form of a summons.

Amazing that some idiot would actually run around making vehicle stops.Unmarked county cruisers have grill lights. Rarely will plain clothed officers make vehicle stops and when they do they will immediately show their creds and identify themselves. You can always just maintain your speed and dial 911 on your cell phone to confirm it's an officer. Some asshole like that stops me and he is going to be looking down the barrel of my Sig till uniformed officers arrive. I see a weapon and he is getting bang banged a couple of times.

I think it was New York state a few years back banned cops from using unmarked cars to do traffic stops. They had too many women attacked by guys pretending to be cops.

Unmarked cars have no effect on catching people who would otherwise slow down for a marked car. Even the state police showed a marked car on the beltway and people just blew right past it.

I'd rather be stopped by a police impersonator then pay $3000 fucking dollars for a speeding ticket!
