delaware casinos are slots only - no blackjack, craps, roulette, etc. not sure about poker.

also don't know about other sports, but nfl bets are 3+ team parlays only. you can not do single bets.

Charlestown is easier to get to from FFX than Dover; less traffic. Charlestown also added Texas hold'em and a few other table games this year. Leave Charlestown and hit strip clubs with toothless dancers. Leave Dover and get your teeth knocked out by local Shorebillys.

My advise: Go to Atlantic City or save up and hit Vegas for a real casino experience.

The dummy that said that delaware does not have table games is a complete moron. I went do dover downs casino about 3 weeks ago on a saturday night. Dover downs was much nice and and less crowded than that trashy casino in charlestown. No smoking inside the casino at all so you will not come out smelling like an ashtray. I left alexandria on a saturday night around 9pm and was there at 10:40pm. The table minumums when I got there was only $15 for blackjack, craps and roulette. After 1am some tables went down to $10. There were 4 craps tables, and about 12 blackjack tables. All were crowded but you could easily find a spot at a table without waiting for an opening. I did not see any poker room at dover. I will never ever go back to charlestown after going to dover.

Charles Town is a very nice casino, equal to any 2nd-tier property in AC, like the Showboat or the Trop used to be. They have tables games and a poker room. There is smoking in some portions of the casino, but other area, such as the poker room and some slot areas are nonsmoking. I have heard positive things about Delaware Park casino, but it's twice as far as Charles Town and you have to put up with I-95 and tolls.

Depending on your tastes if you only go gambling a few times a year save your money and go to Vegas. Flights are decently priced and you get treated like a customer not a mark. You get comped on just about all play. The people I know that have been to Charles Town were never offered a comp even while playing $50 a hand blackjack. In Vegas that earns you a free dinner at least in a good restaurant not some hot bar buffet.

Vegas has sports book too which is great, you cannot get that anywhere else in the U S. The problem is, if you consider it a problem, once you go to Vegas you are spoiled by the service and comps.

You can easily stay for 4 weeknights at a downtown casino for less than 150 bucks. I just checked the 4 Queens website, next Sunday to Thursday would be $128. It will be a no-frills room but a total bargain. Even over a 4-day weekend, you'll spend less than 200 bucks on your room.

Find yourself a cheap flight, and you can gamble in the heart of Las Vegas for 5 bucks a hand until your heart's content and drink plenty of free booze while you're at it.

Charles Town's a joke.

WV is way closer than Delaware.

Chales Town isn't a joke, it's just a nice chill casino. I've been to Vegas plenty of times, and had fam living there. It's a unique and amazing place no doubt, but getting there is not the sort of hike I'd put effort into if I just want something to do on the weekend.

What table minimums do you play at Charles Town?
