Cub Run Rec Center or Lifetime Fitness?

We've had a family membership to the Fairfax County Park Authority Cub Run Rec Center for the past year. Kids love the pool, but for the price ($900 for the year) for a year-long membership for four people (two adults, two kids), we didn't use it as much as we thought we would. The kids love the Leisure Pool with the playground and slides, but that's about all we've used it for.

Lots of families I know in our neighborhood go to Lifetime Fitness in Centreville. Any comments, recommendations, reviews? How much does membership cost approximately? How is the kid care (our kids are 10 and 7, so not toddlers and infants, which makes it easier). I'm basically looking for someplace to use for myself, when the kids go back to school. Would appreciate any feedback from anyone has used both Cub Run and Lifetime, and can make a comparison.

In 1999 a serious accident occured at that 3 way intersection. At aproximatly 3pm a car traveling west bound plowed into a family of squirrles and tragically killed all of the varmits. The county decided to put up a 3 way stop sign to slow down traffic

If you go to Lifetime...make sure you keep your stuff locked in the trunk of your car. Stealing from lockers runs rampant there!

Maybe you could just go for a run, or a walk. Or, you could be like some of the people here and be cheap as hell and just take your kids to play in the fountain at Fairfax Corner.

One adult and two kids will run you close to $900 at year at Lifetime. I would bet two adults will be closer to $1400 a year.

Lifetime is butt expensive. I pay $73.95/mo total for me and my daughter's junior membership (which I think is $6.00 on top of the adult membership), if that helps the OP in his/her calculations. I too go to the one in C'ville. It's a great place to meet Koreans and out of shape housewives.
