Yeah, yo, its true! You can shove that shit straight in your waistband and cover it up with yo shirt n shit n its all good playa. You can also walk around with it in your hand but only if you have it pointed directly in front of you facing down range. This, for you, would probably be the preferred method of carry.

Your friend (likely the same one from before) is still an idiot and so are you for listening to anything he ever says. If you are going to conceal you need a permit. It doesn't matter where you are. Any sort of "exemptions" to this rule may likely only apply to carrying the newly purchased weapon in a bag which will be outfitted with a zip tie (free of charge). Go ahead and try to walk in there / walk around in there with a loaded weapon concealed on your leg without a permit, jackass.

For the benefit of those around you while your dumbass is there:

"DUE TO PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUES AND INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS, THERE WILL BE NO LOADED GUNS, OR MAGAZINES, ALLOWED ON THE SHOW FLOOR. THIS APPLIES TO VENDORS AS WELL AS THE GENERAL PUBLIC. SORRY, BUT WITHOUT MEETING THE INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS THE SHOW CANNOT GO ON, AND AS MUCH AS WE MIGHT AGREE ( or disagree ) WITH YOUR OBJECTIONS, WE MUCH PREFER TO CONTINUE THE SHOW IN SPITE OF THIS SMALL INCONVENIENCE. THIS MATTER IS NOT OUR POLICY OR DECISION, BUT WE CANNOT AND WILL NOT CHANGE IT OR MAKE EXCEPTIONS. "

No, you're not. You can't even open carry with a magazine. They put a zip tie through the slide to keep it open.

You can NOT open carry or conceal in the gun show. That's way too dangerous!

I will not be going to the gunshow. While you all have your views, so do I. I prefer that those high horse people get off of it and stop scaring their neighbors. You have no need for a gun. If you want to be protected get a tazer gun. They sell them for relatively low cost and if you use it (the personal use ones), it will be replaced no charge. No chance you will go hunting in Fairfax and need a real gun.

Shut up, Vince. Go back to hiding under your bed when the boogeyman comes-a-knocking at your door.

For anyone with previous experience, is the July gun show more crowded, or the October one? I'm trying to decide between which date I'll try and hit it up.

With one minor exception; your own home or any private location where the proprietor gives explicit permission. e.g. Your friend's house, if they have given you permission.

Yes, his friend is an idiot, and you can't carry loaded in any capacity at the show.

Eh, nothing special about the gunshow. probably 30 tables selling new guns with some used in their inventory. The rest was complete crap. quite a few tables with antique and historical guns, a bunch selling military history items, for some reason, at least a half a dozen pawn shops selling cheap crappy jewlery (but no guns), a few decent gun accessories, but mostly selling junk sights and flashlights, the standard collection of people selling the greatest concealment holsters ever who insist that you try their product, the tables full of organizations (NRA, VCDL, etc..). The best was the virginia defense league, with two guys in fatigues that didn't look like they could make it up a flight of stairs, let alone protect us from the canadians and zombies.

It was the same as it's been for the past 5 years. I go there, pay 12 bucks, get something I could have gotten at VA Arms for 20 bucks more, have to wait two days for my background check to get processed with all the other 16,000 background checks, go back on sunday, pay 12 bucks again, pick up my purchase, then leave with that same feeling you get after jerking off - slightly happier, but wishing it could have been the real thing.

Trader Jerry's had some nice Kimbers though.

Just got back with a Mossberg 500 Persauder 12 Gauge shotgun with handgrip stock. Cost $309/$328 with tax from Gary's guns. Got me a lot PDX1 12 guage 1oz rifled slug and three OO buck shot. Sho going to be very very dangerous coming up in Dika Dika's place for some mayhem. Hell, we can have day of the living dead around and I'll take a lot of them out.

Yep, it's why I don't go to the gun shows. VA Arms is priced the same or slightly above what you can find at a show, and you don't have to deal with the attitudes or crowds.

Concur. Picked up 2 Kimbers on Friday (I have a CCP). Ammo is abundant again.
Other than that, there is one table with high end British and Italian double guns, so collectors like me are warned against being disappointed

Picked up a HK P30...

A helluva gun to even hold in your hand with hawkeye accuracy..

a great show and my background check only took 1 hour. Awesome selection, and even if you don't buy a gun there but are planning to check out other armories, I would recommend checking it out just to get a feel of what you might like.. People are interesting, have their own stories to tell as well as information on top of information on everything. A great place to start.

Did anyone see any original issue or newly manufactured M1's (More specifically, Carbines)?

Didn't see any but you will have to dig deep if you want an original.
I can't believe how much they've gone up in value over the years.

Went back today to pick up some odds and ends. Did see two M1 Garands and one M1 carbine (Can't tell you if there were M2 or M3 variants). It did have a folding stock...I guess kinda rare.

Only one person in this thread claimed to be a collector. Even so, your question would be like asking a car collector why he buys gas and oil for his cars.

SIMPLE TO SHOOT, Depending the collector, some will shoot their guns and some won't. What type of point are you trying to make? One of the Brady Bunch.

Rare indeed if it was an original. Did you see the price tag?
I've only fired an M1 Carbine once and it was sweet.

It's hard to believe someone would actually ask that question but there
are people in this world who are totally unfamiliar with firearms and
people who actually own them. "Buy the bullets"? If you're a reloader
maybe but most of us buy the whole round, brass, primer, powder,
and yes, the bullets already assembled.:)

One M1 was being carried around for sale, private seller. The other M1 and Carbine did not have price on it, I guess they wanted you to ask. Seem like a lot of stuff was not marked with prices this show.

I didn’t know that they had live entertainment at the gun show. Did anyone else witness that short fat guy was making a spectacle of himself by yelling at and threatening one of the vendors Friday evening? On our way out we saw the VA State troopers escorting him from the building to his SUV.

Vince(1) is known to have anger issues. He was probably there protesting the 2nd Amendment and picked a fight with whoever would give him time of day.

Threatening one of the vendors and all they did was escort him to his
SUV? Sounds fishy to me. BTW, I didn't pay any attention but were the
cops who did attend Va State Troopers or FCPD? How about the off-duty
cops who were there to attend the show as customers? Did they react?

I can actually see some dumb fuck putting up a sign like that. There are so many idiots out there that want to run around saying "I have a gun." That's the last you want to do is advertise you own a gun.

I know alot of cool people who own guns, my one buddy even conceal carries more than one piece at a time, its fuckin awesome. But most of the people at the gun show were a bunch of loser-ass tools. I swear I would punched this guy's lights out if the cops weren't around. hopefully October will be better.

The gun shows at the Dulles Expo Center have been very successful in the past
and continues to be so. When gun shows were outlawed in Fairfax County, it
was a pain in the behind to drive to places like Leesburg or Winchester.
In the last couple of hours of the very first show, I asked one of the
dealers how well he'd done that day and he was very happy. He said, "The
people in Fairfax have a lot more money than ones in other areas and they
spend it!" A few months later I read a newspaper article that said the
Nations Gun Show at DEC was the most profitable show East of the Mississippi.
I don't know if that still holds true or not but it was a good indication of
the public's overall acceptance of these events in Fairfax. Check out the
review of the show they held last February right after the snowstorm.:)

Because no gun show is complete without full Nazi gear.

I understand if you're making a movie or something...but what sane, normal person needs any of that?

There are many people who collect authentic military gear from just about
any army and era. I collect Soviet militaria but that doesn't make me a
Marxist.

If you collect Nazi gear you're a little weird.

I have a pistol that my uncle picked up during the Battle of the Bulge.
Is he "weird" for keeping it? When he died he left it to me because he
thought I was the only one of his nephews who would appreciate such a thing.
It hangs on the wall in my den with a plaque commemorating his service.
Weird? I think not.

One pistol not so weird. A house full of Nazi flags, weird.

I whole-heartedly agree that is not weird. I have an uncle (non-blood related) who keeps his father's blood-stained Nazi officers dagger that he got during the KILLING of the JEWS in his den to commemorate his service... little weird no? Suffice it to say that:
a) we don't keep in touch with him much and
b) the "why" behind collectors items is everything.

Only if your Jewish... You seem to have a smart ass comment for everyone. If you don't like guns take your ass out of here.

I assume all the talk above is for the Dulles Expo Shows. They are pretty expensive because they know they can charge more. A friend told me the same show moves around the area. I believe he found it in Woodbridge or Manassas and the same guns were much cheaper from the same vendors.
