The highest elevation point in Fairfax County: Mt Murtagh. Named after Hugh Murtagh, an engineer who oversaw construction of the I-66 landfill.

I'm guessing you just read this article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/10/AR2010071002580.html

I've always heard it referred to as Mount Trashmore.

Highest point in Fairfax County? The top of my neighborhood is roughly the same height, and it used to be even higher (Over 600') before they cleared the hill-top for condos. The highest points in Ffx. are the hill upon which Tysons Corner exists, and the ridge which Reston Pkwy. runs on north of the Toll Road.

As for the Ffx. dump, I went there once to offload some things from a truck, and all I ever saw was an epic ocean of trash. I don't even recall a "Mountain". The only real Mt. Trashmore is in VA Beach.

Wasn't there a Mt. Trashmore skating video back in the day? Maybe I am just wrong but it sounds so familiar.

I know I'm replying to this from 12 years ago but idgaf.

Both the virginia beach and fairfax former trash piles are mount trashmore. I grew up in fairfax county and now live in the va beach area. I always heard murtaugh referred to as "mount trashmore" growing up and was surprised to learn there was one here in Va beach as well. Trying to do some research to see if there was any relation in their creations.
