+1 Fairfax is a utopia compared to parts of DC, Baltimore, and Richmond. Even the constant criminal happenings in Cedar Park are tame compared to the crap that goes on in those cities.

Reston/Herndon is one of the few crime areas, because of the damn beaners, and all of the D.C. projects transplants to the subsidized apartments. Fortunately, it's all pretty localized still.

the only true ghettos in northern virginia are in old town alexandria. Colonial avenue is one of the worst areas in town people get murdered very frequently in the subsidized housing around that way.

I would like to know the genius that decided to place subsidized housing in Old Town. I've seen some really decent and desirable public housing projects, but that little area in Old Town is a real black hole on the neighboring demographics.

If you ever take the train to New York, you will see block after block of burned out and abandoned shit holes in Baltimore. That town should either try to revitalize those neighborhoods or take the Detroit approach and consolidate and bulldoze.
