I like this.

Try Burke Lake Park. I have seen photos of people holding big fish (from bass to muskies) -- HOWEVER -- I have never actually witnessed anyone (including myself) hauling anything out of that lake much bigger than their bait (though a few years ago I caught a good-sized catfish, but that's it).

For a nice surprise try the two small ponds behind the Fairfax County Govt. Center, which have a good number of 3lb to 4lb largemouths.

Deal Sheets , are those ponds behind government center open for fishing during the week, pretty much any time?, so the county is stocking that pond, is it considered county parkland?

Is access to Potomac still available at chain bridge? with the endless years of construction i'm guessing no more, no place to park

Sorry Hank -- did not see your post.

The ponds are open 24/7. Don;t know if it is parkland but you probably do need a license -- but it is very unlikely a game warden will wander by, though Fairfax Police occasionally do but that is probably outside of their jurisdiction.

Don't know about chain bridge access. Sorry.
