While the schools are operating in online mode, the first 30 minutes of every school day will consist of a virtual bus ride during which time the bus driver will be in a video conference session with students. Bus drivers will have cameras set up to record them from behind, which will be transmitted to the students. Bus drivers will be able to view the virtual passenger students on their own monitor.
The virtual bus ride will serve as a daily warmup to get the students engaged in the virtual learning environment and ready to delve into the virtual academic day. During the virtual bus ride the students and bus driver may sing popular songs such as "The wheels on the Bus Go 'Round and 'Round" and "Ninety-nine Bottles of Beer on the Wall." Students will not be required to sing along and may read or work on class assignments. To provide a more realistic experience, students will remain in their seats for the entire virtual bus ride, and no bathroom breaks will be permitted.
