eh, read what actually happened. The hotel employees saw 2 unattended children swimming in the hotel swimming pool and an adult female sitting in a car talking on a cellphone. The employees asked the children to please get out of the pool and then they proceeded to ask the woman in the car to leave the premises as they were calling police (which was procedure during incidents like this).
When the police got there, the driver of the car was still there. The police asked her for identification which she refused to provide. Instead she showed a hotel guest room key. The officers continued to ask for ID and she continued to refuse to provide identification...
As it turns out, the woman was in fact a guest at the hotel. She had brought her kids to the pool and had gone to her car to use her cellphone to call her mother because she needed to use the charger in the car. She had view of her children the entire time.
Instead of clearing this all up from the get go she decided to accuse the hotel employees of racism and escalate the whole thing up through the management. The employee who called the police, as was corporate procedure in situations like this at the time, now no longer works for that hotel. This is what happens when people do not give each other the benefit of the doubt and do nothing to try to work things out themselves. Yet, the sad thing is, that the corporate policy mandating that the employee call the cops was probably put into place because trying to sort stuff like this out in the past had backfired and led to the same sorts of accusations.
