Elevation Burger in Falls Church

Finally stopped in the place. I tried the grilled cheese. Not too good, cheese was bitter tasting and not too good grilled in a hamburger bun. Did like the fries cooked in olive oil, though not a fan of the stringy kind. Thought I saw a bottle olive oil that was not organic which seemed interesting too me for a place that touts it's greeness. Also noticed the ice cream was the kind of crummy, imo, Blue Bunny. I'd think they'd carry some organic ice cream. Still I've read Elevation Burger is slated to start expanding big time in the near future.

I'm so freaking tired of upscale burger joints. They're going to be become as numerous and tiresome as wine bars. The best burger in the world is in New Orleans, a place called Port of Call. Simple, delicious, unpretentious. It makes these upscale, yuppie-out-to-slum joints look like just that. Phony.

Elevation Burger somehow got a big investment from Saudi Arabia. It was in the FCNP. They also have one over by the Harris Teeter in Arlington.

I like Elevation Burger. I think it's better than Five Guys, with one exception; NO BACON.

I wouldn't expect to find any bacon on an "Araburger"

Add Carl's Jr. to that list.

They just got Sonic in the Boston area. They're going insane for it, like when they got Krispy Kreme. (I think KK lasted about a year before they went out of business up there...)

I read my post again and I didn't see any remark about the quality of the hamburgers. I commented that for a place that exclaims its healthy menu that they use a rather comon place olive oil instead of an organic one. And the Blue Bunny ice cream. I seem to recall about a decade ago Blue Bunny low balled the price of their ice cream to wipe out most of its competition. It succeeded but it is pretty mediocre ice cream. No environmentally conscious brand like Ben and Jerry

It is 100% heart healthy olive oil. So, which 5 Guys franchise do you own?

Elevation Burger is very similar to In & Out Burger, right down to the packaging. The burgers aren't bad - about as good as 5 Guys. Of course Ray's Hell Burger is by far the best burger joint in a 10-mile radius, but then you have to deal with Courthouse and its douchebags.

Sonic for lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sickness within 45 minutes of eating on both occasions. (First day was carhop service. Second day was drive thru, but it took them 40 minutes to serve me and the two cars ahead of me in line.)

I personally think the burgers are alright. But not good enough to go out of my way to get them and pay the premium price for "organic" beef. The fries aren't so good. They are fried in olive oil; dont get me wrong, i love olive oil. But it makes the fries seem limp and extra greasy. I think it's because olive oil burns at low temp. so the oil isn't hot enough to make them crispy.

I finally had an In-N-Out burger a few months ago. The most over-rated thing I have experienced in quite some time. It tasted like a Big Mac with a really toasted bun. And the fries were nothing to write home about. Yes, it was in the Big Lebowski. That doesn't make it great.

Had one last weekend in Vegas. Been there before and it's reliably good, but I don't really understand the fascination. You can get the same stuff here.

Sorry. I forgot you need a sophisticated palate to eat shit from a fast food joint.

I also had my first In-N-Out about a year ago. Complete crap. I took a bite, and out squirted Thousand Island dressing, or whatever the hell that was. Messy garbage.

There is a lot for me to like about NoVA, but I do miss a Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl's Jr. If I ever step foot in California again, that will be a first stop. Second stop is Avalon on Catalina Island for the best Bloody Mary I ever had. It crept up and quietly buzzed you. Nice. That's about all I miss of California.

Double Western Bacon Cheeseburgerâ„¢

Two Charbroiled All-Beef Patties, Two Strips of Bacon, Two Slices of Melted American Cheese, Crispy Onion Rings and Tangy BBQ Sauce on a Toasted Sesame Seed Bun.

I think Food Wars DC would have been better off doing upscale burger joints rather than jumbo slice pizza.

That being said...
Number 1. Five Guys (still)
2. Hell Burger
3. BGR
4 Tie. Big Buns and Elevation Burger
6 Fudruckers
7. Cheeburger Cheeburger

Then again, I'd really just like some In And Out burger right now.

Fudruckers so good they closed down a bunch in the area. 5 guys did them in. And I can tell you that Sonic will make a killing in this market. People go all the way to Winchester for it. That place is amazing. But I do not think they can get the girls to ride skates. Unless they use high school ones.
