Getting to Verizon Center during weekdays

What's the best way to get there during weekdays? I know that parking is a bitch. So Should I stick with metro? or drive?

Metro. There is parking available in private lots around the stadium for ~$10-30, but in my experience nothing is easier than just taking the metro down.

As a Capitals full season ticket holder, I go to the Verizon Center a lot. I used to be a big Metro fan, but this season I have been driving to all of the games. The traffic is not bad at all and it's much more comfortable/relaxing/peaceful than fucking Metro. The parking right across the street is expensive ($25 on game nights), but there are garages very close by that are $10-15. I would drive if I were you.

It sucks now that DC has extended meter hours until 10:30pm Mon - Sat. I used to park off the beaten path a few blocks away at 6:30pm and never pay a dime.

I am down a few blocks out of chinatown every day...down at north capitol and i.
it really depends what time you are driving there. mornings, bad idea. after 10am you should be fine. driving back if its before 3pm you will be good, and after 7pm or 8pm you are good.
now finding public parking is a different story.

Why even bother?

Unlike the old Capital Centre, the Verizon Center only averages around 2-3 concerts a year that are even worth attending.

Last year we lucked out though with a KISS & a AC/DC concert both in the same week.
