Whether you agree or disagree with gun ownership, it's a good idea to learn about the Declaration of Independence, the 2nd Amendment, and the intentions of the Founding Fathers of the United States.


Declaration of Independence:
with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
- that's right...it is written as our right as citizens of the United States...to stand up to a destructive government (with guns likely) and alter or abolish the government

2nd Amendment:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
- this is where people get confused. So, the founding fathers actually explained why the 2nd amendment is important and even defined militia

YOur problem is the Democratic Party and its adherents hate the Constitution and oppose every principle this country was founded on. The only use they have for the Constitution or anything from the founding of the Republic is when they can twist it to give Special Rights to their pet groups of supporters.

This is why the eradication of liberalism is necessary to the preservation of our Nation.

The only historical context I see here is the wealthy Virginia plantation owning hemp growing whiskey running guerillas making is clear as crystal that under no circumstances should FUCKING NIGGERS OWN FIREARMS!! can you imagine if the founding fathers knew their second amendment was going to be applied to FUCKING NIGGERS?? they would go into cardiac arrest on the spot! And now that the cat is out of the bag we have to take guns from everyone so the NIGGERS don't start a race war. Hate to say it but we truly must ban guns now and I love guns. The reality of the situation is that our Constitution was made to be modified thanks to the wisdom of our founding fathers. The Constitution can be amended to severely restrict gun ownership and that's exactly what needs to happen. Yes there will still be plenty of guns around for the next couple hundred years but eventually our nation can be disarmed. God bless America!

The FFs owned vast tracts of land tended with slave labor to grow drugs (tobacco, moonshine, hemp etc.) which were then sold to buy weapons used to successfully defeat a corrupt tyrannical nanny state in combat.

Adams was clarifying what was meant by "militia". There was much debate at the time about this. It has nothing to do with what can and can't be amended. Based on what I've read, I personally believe they included the term "militia" to make it clear that the right to bear arms includes the right to use them in open revolt against tyrannical govt, not just for hunting or personal self defense. 2A isn't just there to keep govt in check. 2A's most important function is to remind us what to do when the govt starts infringing

The best option for repealing the Second Amendment is: Calling for a Constitutional Convention under Article V of the Constitution (a.k.a. an “Article V convention“). If two-thirds of the state legislatures call for a new convention, they could convene delegations and start drafting new amendments. It’s understandably a controversial idea, but arguably could be a way to repeal the Second Amendment.
A few more election cycles and we may have enough democrats to make this a reality.
