My Plumber

We called the company My Plumber because our regular plumber as not available. In our view, the company My Plumber really tried to screw us. Read the on line] reviews. They tried to charge us $740+ (!!?) for changing a simple, small valve. Simple job that should have cost about 85-135.

You have been warned: Do not call My Plumber. My humble opinion.

This pooch was not screwed (but we were), but they charged us 79 dollars for a visit.

They mostly work on commission these days.

The correct price is whatever they feel they can get out of you.

Basically used car dealers.

Most of those larger companies try to fuck you up the asshole without any lube. I had one try to charge me $500 to snake a drain on a rental, I raised hell and got a 50% refund

This is America son! They can charge whatever they want and you have the right to not purchase those services if you so choose. I suppose you think the government should regulate the prices? You are very anti-American.

You must be some kind of special stupid. You are My Plumber's target customer. The OP didn't pay it and was warning others that the company has very high prices. Did OP say anything about regulating prices? How about getting an education, son?! Moron.

Sometimes you got to pay the high prices. Magnolia has high prices, but at least they show up & stand behind their work. Most of these plumbers you call never show up. The ones that show up a lot of the time do crappy work & won't make it right. I pay with a CC, so when they didn't make their crappy work right, I disputed it & won. A neighbor said try Magnolia. He warned me they were high, but at least showed up & did the job right.

He was right. They said they'd show up around 10 AM and they showed up at about 1015. The guy looked at it, took out an Ipad and punched in a bunch of stuff and told me a price. It was high, higher than the other ones, but I told him to do it. He did it & when he was done the price was what he told me. The other ones gave me a song & dance when they jacked up the original price. The prob. is gone away, so they did the job right. My neighbor told me they did do a job wrong for him once, but he called them, they showed up the next day and fixed it no charge.

Sometimes, you get what you pay for.

What is a fair price for keeping a van stocked full of parts and staff available to do work at a moment's notice, driving the van out to your house, diagnosing the problem, fixing it and then standing behind the repair? I am not saying that it is $740 or anything close to that. Many people though would feel it should be about $50 because the guy was only at their house for an hour, which is equally ridiculous.

@not suprising-$500 is more than I have ever paid to have drains snaked, but not prohibitively higher. When they do mine they run them out to the street. If I find a good, reliable tradesman I am going to pay him his going rate rather than fuck around to save a few bucks and end up with a half assed job.

You get what you pay for? Yes, this was an insulting screwin' in my view. Good for the homeowner saying no.

Thank you for sharing your experience with them.

I could have snaked it out in 5 minutes, it was just removing p trap and going in a few feet. An illegal would have charged $50 tops. Only reason this happened is because my tenant called the association instead of myself, the association called the big name company out there.

Plumbing is so easy any brain dead redneck or illegal can do it, most things should be under $100 and thankfully they are thanks to illegals and people being able to DIY easily with youtube and the internet. You can buy a soldering kit with a mapp torch for under $100 and a decent set of tools for $50. I paid $40 for ryobi 18v auger which makes snaking a breeze.

I understand white trash needs to work, but you're not fucking me over.

It must be horrible being so poor that you even care about such things. Have you no education?

I never have drain clogs. I pee in all my drains all the time. The uric acid eats up clogs real good so I never have to pay a plumber to snake my drain.

The richest people are usually the cheapest. I didn't acquire rentals by allowing contractors to bend me over and fuck me.

I snaked your old lady’s drain last night while you were pounding your pud.

I had this hot 25 petite yr old Saudi chick from Burke come over the other night. And she brought me food too. I thanked her by giving her 4 creampies. It's nice to clean out the pipes occasionally.

Now, back to your exciting plumbing discussion.

Sounds like you need a new plumber. Try calling Mario & Bros.

I think that the repair work in the house should be treated with the same care and seriousness as the construction contracts. I never believe the words and try to use construction estimate software. This is true for construction and any electrical work. You make an order and they give you a full estimate. For some reason, people forget about it when they see plumbing and begin to believe in any nonsense that they come up with. Think logically and choose professionals with a good reputation with customers.

Fhfurr came in 2k higher than everyone else. Wtf?

What a jerk you are. This is a free market society. Skill dictates incomes. Plumbing is a skilled trade that requires years of school and constant classes because of changing building codes. But you seem to think that the average paki can pick up a wrench and do it for minimum wage. Let me guess, you have no problem charging people thousands of dollars for what you do, right? What a dolt.

Agree, Alltech is good.

That Furr asshole and Michael and Sons all pay for their endless ads by charging gullible rubes up the ass.

Yeah, that's how we live, high prices for work in half an hour. Just an injustice. I fully agree with the comment above: "Most of those larger companies try to fuck you up the asshole without any lube. I had one try to charge me $500 to snake a drain on a rental, I raised hell and got a 50% refund." In order for this to stop, you need to stop calling these services for help. When a fine burst pipe in the basement I called www.absolutedp.com because they work 25/7, and Oseni for if they are acceptable. Yes, I understand that any work costs money, but not a fortune.

The typical homeowner makes no effort to find a decent plumber or any other repair person until something goes wrong. When the homeowner calls with his emergency he expects someone to answer the call and to be there within a day or less. Joe the Plumber may be great and charges half as much, but he may not be able to call back until the end of the day, and may not get to the job for a couple of days afterwards. I am not a fan of Furr or Michael and Sons, but they do provide these types with name recognition, immediate contact and a relatively quick initial response.

i agree, they might be more expensive but they'll pick up the phone and schedule an appointment faster than smaller outfits, almost always for the same day. we made a mistake trying to save money last year with some private firm, and they sent these 2 jackasses out, who screwed up our drywall and ended up getting into a fight with each other where one was smacked over the head with a propress tool. at least with the bigger companies you'll get people who act professional and know what they're doing.
