----Why am I not contacting the police? My point was and is that contacting the police ABOUT the police does/did not do anything except piss them off!Other areas have a board of neutral civilians who hear citizen complaints-FFx will not allow such a review board so they do not answer to anyone. This=abuse of power and all you can do is smile and tolerate it!

Should have known it was a few FFX cops posting abusive comments on this thread. How sad....protect and serve....nicce....

Well then follow up with the County... you are trying to solve your problem in the wrong direction, like trying to filter water downstream rather than ask the farm upstream to stop dumping fertilizer.

Charge: OPERATE/PERMT OP UNLIC MTR VEH Code Section: 46.2-613(1) Case Type: Infraction

To me this does not sound anything like "altered or ficticious registration", which is posted on this site.

Maybe some people are surprised that they are cited for one infraction and find their name on here and it states another. To me....altered or ficticious sounds fruadulent. I wouldn't want that under my name either.

No reason to attack someone or try to embarrass them further.

Interested to Know,

The past few weeks of arrest list updates had to be suppressed because the server I am currently using is woefully low on disk space. Currently the arrest list pulls its database from a ramdisk which has filled up. I did not expect to suppress more than a week's worth of information while waiting for my new server to be delivered.

However it seems this has dragged on too long. I have changed the website's arrest list tool to search the REAL master database as opposed to the one copied to the ramdisk (faster).

There will be a slight performance hit because of these changes but all data on file will now be displayed.

New to this site. I briefly experimented with wildcards but didn't have any success. For instance a date field such as 06/??/08 or use of an * anywhere returned no results.

I briefly considered digging deeper to uncover the SQL but I don't have the desire to pursue this, I just wondered if anyone else is able to search on less than an explicit term.

Date probably needs to be explicit, but for the rest you don't need wildcards... it will search on partial terms. For example if you put "ith" in the lastname field, you'll get Smiths, Griffiths, and others. "Pee" in the offense search field gets you speeding.

This is great. I'm new to it--thank you. Two quick questions:

1) It seems like the only way to search for people in an area (say in my neighborhood) is street-by-street. There are dozens of streets or more in my neighborhood. Is there an easier way?

2) I can search by exact date, or full year, but is there a way for a month? 05/2008, for example, gives me the 5th day of all months in 2008.

Thanks & keep it up!

I have a charge that shows up here, for which i was not convicted of or put on trial for. It was a mistake on the officers part, as soon as my name was called in court, the officer demanded it be dismissed right-away. i am a young student, i dont want people to be seeing the charge because it isnt who i am, neither what i am interested in. So, Cary if you could help me with that, i'd deeply appreciate it. Thank you

An arrest is an arrest. Yes, it will show up on your record. That's why employers ask, "Have you ever been CONVICTED"

LMAO at the movie Stripes where the Recruiter is asking "Have you ever been convicted of a felony?" The guy answers "Convicted???? No, never convicted."

The search here is not a constant connection to FCPD's systems, public or otherwise. Given the degree to which you are correcting others, I assumed you were in fact an expert.

I found this site by accident and find the database fascinating. Who knew the Fairfax Police were actually ticketing traffic offenders?? Couldn't tell by all the morons driving down our streets! It look like they rate 95% of the charges!

Is there a way to search a range of dates? Or by month?

Cool... she knows about the Arrest/Ticket Search on FU.com! Every lawyer I have worked with has always stuck with the official Court Records.

I hope you are paying a flat fee, as I would hate to have to pay by the hour regarding getting your record cleared up.

Another person who just doesn't get that the search here has nothing to do with searching something maintained by the County.

It's as if you printed off an article form WashingtonPost.com, loaded up the same article on your Web browser an hour later and noticed a spelling error had been corrected, and expecting it to also be corrected on your printout.

This occurs when the police re-book someone on the same charge or when some other administrative task is completed. I'm not sure of all the exact causes but in this example the first "POSS MARIJUANA" charge appeared in the arrest list released during the week of 2/28/08 and the same charge re-appeared in the arrest list released during the week of 5/15/08:

schneller:~/fcpd# grep --recursive DENICK * | grep DAVID
...
022808/Arrest.txt:"DENICK ","DAVID ","A","021"," 2488","FREETOWN ","DR","RESTON ","VA","02/14/2008","POSS MARIJUANA "
051508/Arrest.txt:"DENICK ","DAVID ","A","021"," 2488","FREETOWN ","DR","RESTON ","VA","02/14/2008","POSS MARIJUANA "

This may also be caused by probation violations. I have not yet figured out all the specifics.

It will be removed from the county records, but it will continue to show up here on FU. The list here is just a database of all the published arrest lists each week. Nobody goes through it to remove stuff. I think Cary will remove it at your request if it truly was expunged or you were found not guilty, but I'd recommend contacting him OFFLINE about that and not posting here! :-)

How do you search by dates?
Posted by: FFXPkwy ()

I really appreciate the new search tool, however, I am having difficulty figuring out the proper way to search by a date. I know the individual, and I know the city so it brings back the list of their arrests. But when I search for city and a specific date for one of their arrests, it brings back nothing. I tried 2/4/2007, 2/4/07, 02/04/2007, 02/04/07, 2-4-2007, etc. Maybe an example or a note on the search page like the one for hyphens in last names, would be helpful?

Yup, looks like special characters are being removed to stop SQL injection attacks. The slash and hyphens get removed this makes the date search fail. Allowing forward slashes / in the date field should fix the problem.

Hmmm, I tried 02042007, 020407, 242007, 2407 and none of them worked. Maybe I should put quotes around it?

I dont care if my charge & name is on here, but is there some way you can take my street address off? The ffx website has it hidden for me and I pay extra $ each month to be unlisted for me&my kid. Lots of people get tickets, so thats not a big deal. Im not like that guy "not guilty" , but I am one of the wives of those people. Dont believe it, I have a restraining order& Id almost pay u to remove my street. Is there any way you could take the street address off as a favor? I know it was once public and stuff, and yea think about that before doing something bad.. would u consider this or do u like to leave it up? Thanks!

Other than that, LOVE the website, its really fun to see coworkers previous charges!hehe

So you LOVE to check out the info (Arrests and Tickets) of your co-workers, but you want your info to be edited?

You may have a valid reason for this request, but as you (correctly - to a degree) stated... "I know it was once public and stuff" (Once information has been made public, it remains public. There are exceptions, but in a situation as minor as your arrest information, I doubt any of those exceptions apply!)

When making requests like this it helps to submit lingerie pictures.

I was sure there were almost 30k tickets by the ens of january this year and now less than 25k show for the year to date.
and no prostirution arrest or tickets in 2010, isn't that odd or have they stopped posting that for public info.

misspelling aside, the only filter for publishing arrest records is if the defendant is under the age of 18.

if you cant find it, you are either searching incorrectly or it does not exist.

You used to be able to go to DMV and get information on a license plate number, no more though.

license plate IDs are not contained in the reports. a full/partial list of registered license plates in VA is not publicly available.

it's obvious that this website is run by and visited by uninformed and immature people who have nothing better to do than read false information about other people's lives and then make ignorant comments about said false information. if the webmaster were to report responsibly maybe he wouldn't fuel such tasteless banter.

This web-site posts false reports about people. Than when the person gets upset the usuals on here attack them.

This web-site is nothing more than a joke. The commons on here have nothing better to do than insult others.

U R dumb. The webmaster is supposed to vet what FCPD publishes? Dumb. And when people make fun by using FCPD publications, that is the _definition_ of making informed comments.

No, it's not still being updated b/c Cary is a lazy fuck who doesn't bother anymore. Check here once a week: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/police/crime/arrest.txt Not as easy or as fun, but it is what it is.

With explorer anyway, go here http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/police/crime/arrest.txt
on your browser left click "edit" drop down menu to find on this page. enter whatever you wanna look for but it is limited to the last period of time.
so check it weekly. you could copy and past the entire list to a word doc or excel sheet and creat your own list.

thursday is the day it updates I think

it means it happenned 9 times @logicaldog

they need to update the inventory, the most recent arrest/ticket is 1/9/2010 in thier registry, its easier to look up people who recently did something bad if you actually can look up what they did in the last year and a half
