Jennifer McDonald, the former executive director of the Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority, was transferred Tuesday from the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren County Regional Jail to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, according to RSW Superintendent Russ Gilkison.

McDonald was arrested in May on four felony counts of embezzlement from the EDA and she is being held without bond.

Gilkison said over the phone that he decided to transfer McDonald because “I felt it was best to move her there” due to the high publicity of the embezzlement case.

He added that while McDonald was being held at RSW, she was in protective custody away from the general population.

Gilkison said Peter Greenspun, McDonald’s lawyer, agreed to the transfer.

The article is not well written. It keeps referring to documents CherryBaekert filed with the court. CB is an accounting firm, not a law firm. While there are certain rare instances where a judge might appoint an accounting firm to perform an audit and file its results with the court, it is far more common that the accounting firm was hired by one of the parties. In that case the accounting firm's report would have been filed by the party or the party's attorney, not the accounting firm.

This distinction is critical in the law. A report filed by a party with the court is an allegation and perhaps evidence supporting that allegation. It is not a court finding.

This is the dark side to casino gambling. You never see it because the commercials only show men in suits along with women in evening gowns happily rolling the dice and winning huge amounts of money.
