So much ignorance, envy, and butthurt. As opposed to so much wealth, talent, education, and class.

Tell the painters not to bring ladders. You have plenty.

We have two, three if you count the step-stool, but now in our late 70s, we don’t use any of them. We pay people to do that ladder sort of stuff for us and the BYO option is always open. Plenty of off-street parking over there too.

You’re long overdue for paying people to do it. Hopefully you are ensuring that the do the proper prep work to remove the stains before the painting commences. After all, it’s the only house you have. Even in 1978 you were forced to settle for less while your superiors were getting brick.

"CLASS"? A nasty old asshole like you thinks they got "class". LOL. Not everybody's as dumb as you.

Well, you asked for it...

Simple facts are that JP was a National Merit Finalist, had a 1500 on the SATs, and a perfect score on the FSEE. Then there came that prestigious run through academic honoraries and such to become a Woodrow Wilson Fellow to the Sloan School at MIT, a White House Fellow, and then on to an awarded 40-year public sector career in international economics and finance working with USG operating and statistical agencies and through such IFIs as OECD/DAC, IFAD, the Paris Club, UN, IMF, World Bank and so on. Also found time in the 90s to develop and teach a pioneering Intro to HTML course, winding things up in 2012 with big time work building a large and complex SQL database. These days, the wife and I live as we have since 2014 as wealthy retirees enjoying all the best in life from a beautiful country home on a much larger than average property nestled among the woods, fields, streams, and wildlife of the wonderful Sweet Spot that so many total klutzes can’t even manage to find. We first bought the place in 1978, doing most of the improving and spiffying up after deciding in 2005 that we would simply retire in place. It’s become a beautiful and inspiring country home for us, being both close enough to and far enough away from things as we would like. Putting your fingers in your ears won’t alter the scope and scale of your gross INFERIORITY. You falter and fail on every scale imaginable.

Oh, and the sound of power-washing means the painters must be here.

Hardly. Guess you forgot about my setting up schedules for this with Vienna Guy. He’s not here today so I am. We do own the place after all. We (and our cars) end up going back and forth all the time as the result.

And by the way, you haven’t done your homework on the 1978 exterior of the house on McHenry Street. Nor I would guess on the difference between brick and brick veneer.

Hahahaha! And the exterior in 1978 was 90% brick, block, and fieldstone. Exterior-grade wood siding had been used for the 1976 kitchen extension. It’s still there. You can go back to making an ass of yourself now

Running away is his big defense. LOL! Meanwhile, Day-1 for the painting crew is in the books. They’ll be back in the morning. One Sweet Spot car is meanwhile back home after some A/C repairs, and one Sweet Spot retiree is back home after getting a 190-day all clear from the vascular surgeon. Pretty successful day.

You simply indicated you got his “okay” to begin the project. Strange that you’d need his “okay” to commence a paint job on a property you own. Also, for an exterior paint job, why would anyone need to be there?

Seems odd. I own several properties and not once has my vehicle been photographed in front of any of them besides my primary residence. Nor do I hold meetings in any of them other than to discuss lease terms. And photos of my children are not found in any tenant occupied properties

Might swing by today for an eyeball on the painting project if we take the shortcut to Pomodoro for a late lunch.

LOL! Nobody calls it just Pomodoro, and aside from McHenry Street itself, there are few places from which you would want to use that route to get there. The meal would likely justify your trouble if you did though. So good!

Yeah, Olive Garden is nice, but places like Pazzo, Ciao, and Bonaroti are in a whole different league.

Meanwhile, Vienna Guy will be taking the reins over at McHenry Street this afternoon. I have another doctor’s appointment - GP this time - and another ballgame - TOR this time - to tend to.

Re: Dollar Tree on Maple Avenue in Vienna is now open!

The correct answer is that the painters moved the cars and everything that had been on either the carport or the front porch so they could do their work. They also took down all the window screens and piled up all that stuff in various places around the now freshly-mowed yard. They’ll put it all back again when they are done, but that won’t be for a while Meanwhile, AAA did pick up the trash alright on Friday, but not the recyclables. They’ll be sending a truck over as soon as they can. If any of you slugs actually owned and maintained a home, none of this would have seemed out of the ordinary. But being members of the moocher/renter class only, you are sorely confused by all of it.

You’re a moron. Leave the lawn maintenance to the tenants. On every property we own, lawn maintenance is the responsibility of the tenant.

The benefits are clearly stacked WAY in favor of the moocher AKA Vienna Guy. No financial or upkeep responsibilities.

Given how often the MY ZIM Pilot is spotted there, maybe Marianne is on the receiving end of the benefits of the transaction.

Yeah, you obviously get lower insurance fees for an occupied home and less criminal activity.

In your mind, that is are equal benefits to tens of thousands of dollars worth of rent and maintenance fees? Plus, every time some work gets done there, you’ve got to go over and supervise. Is the mooch a fucking invalid? Is that why Marianne’s MY ZIM Pilot can be spotted there day and night?
