Why are Europeans so much weaker than us?

Considering they had such a massive head start? How did we manage to surpass them in everyway possible.

Much of Europe is not very resource rich and land locked. They're not as capitalist as we are so there is less incentive to innovate oh and you have tons of 3rd worlders.

Italian pasta is better. French wine is better. Austrian composers are better. Swiss watches are better. German beer and sausages are better. Russian hockey players are better. Danish people are happier. Almost every country in Europe has better worker benefits. The US actually has a lot to answer for.

The things you’ve listed are all only “better” depending on the criteria you use.

Italian pasta is good but it’s really just flour, eggs, salt and water. Use the right type flour and the correct proportions and you won’t know the difference. French wine (especially reds) is great, but California reds are great too, and regularly are rated above highly rated French wines. I love German cars. The absolute pinnacle of automotive engineering (I’ve owned 6 German cars), but they are expensive. Germany produces cars to be engineering masterpieces, and to operate for 15 years with proper maintenance. All very expensive. Go to Germany, and most people aren’t driving Mercedes, BMWs or Porsche’s. They are in VWs or Fiats (check out the Fiat Panda, at one time one of the bestselling cars in Europe).

American products were developed for large scale production. We chose (generally) to compete on price rather than quality. In some cases this has been a disaster, in many cases it’s worked out well.

Most Europeans have no sense of nationality. And I’m not talking about Germany in 1938. Look at a map of Europe. Now look at one from 50 years ago. 2 Germany’s, 1 Czechoslovakia, 0 Croatia. Go back 50 years further, and 50 before that. You’ll see nations that no longer exist. Look at a map of Europe based on linguistics rather than political boundaries. It’s all over the place. Go to Belgium. Beautiful scenery, great beer and fries. One half (Wallonia) speaks French and has their own flag. The other half (Flanders) speaks Dutch and has their own flag. And somebody from one side will not speak with somebody from the other side. IN THE SAME COUNTRY!

Almost all students in European public schools start getting “tracked” around 6th grade. Mediocre academic performance? You go to the trade schools. Strong academics? You are allowed to enter the academic school and will be able to apply to University. This system has produced the best skilled workers and has great effeciencies for how academic resources are allocated (most university students graduate after obtaining a masters level degree). BUT - the marginal student has little chance of entering a more academically oriented track. Could you imagine if your kids 6th grade teacher got to decide if your Little Johnny was going to be a lawyer or a plumber, and there wasn’t a lot you could do about it?

I know this is running long, but there are two sides to the Europe vs US debate. We did go over there and kick ass twice in a 30 year period, but we are also protected by the two largest oceans from those aggressors. Our manufacturing in the 1930’s and 1940’s were geared toward mass production for the wars. It made sense to keep building them this way.

Europe’s products are great but not better.

As a Euro-born immigrant with family still on the other side, I believe i'll just stick with the hand I have.

Go to the USA. Beautiful scenery, great beer and fries. One half (Democraps) speaks Socialism and has their own mascot. The other half (Repugnicans) speaks
Social Darwinism and has their own mascot. And somebody from one side will not speak with somebody from the other side. IN THE SAME COUNTRY!

If the Democrats and their open borders allies had their way, Texas and half of California would cede to Mexico. The only reason our borders have not changed lately is that no country has successfully taken our land via war or reparations.

“Open borders” is just a silly right-wing straw man. Feel free to move along. There is nothing to see here.

Depends what you mean by weaker. As a former resident of Fairfax now living in Germany, I haven't noticed a difference between physically strong people in the U.S. Than here. People in Europe are more ethical in the U.S.

Ummm...it took literally almost the entire World to defeat Germany, twice.

Ummm...neither WW was only Germany on one side. In WWI, the Central Powers were Germany, the Turks (Ottomans), and a huge swath of Eastern Europe. In WWII, the Axis Powers were German, Japan, Italy and several smaller nations. Also, until Hitler decided to invade Russia, the Rooshkies were non-belligerent partners as well.

The US was the only country who fought in both theaters of WWII as the main fighting force on the Allied side once we entered the war in 1942 and going forward. We shouldered 60% of the load in the Atlantic theater and well over 80% in the Pacific theater. In the last year and half of WWII, the UK was just a forward operating point for US troops and air bases.

LOL! Your reality is a worthless pile of right-wing rubbish. There is no actual push coming from anywhere for what you morons foolishly call 'open borders.' This is all a phony backlash meme inspired by nativists and aimed at a gaggle of extremely limited binary thinkers over quite rational claims of the fact that the current border situation (as completely fouled up by Trump) is indeed just a god-awful mess. It doesn't presently work as it should for anyone. We need to do a lot better.

The premise of this thread is stupid, because almost all the founders of the USA ancestors came from Europe. So what would be op’s point? That the European’s who came here built a better nation than the one they left?

Nothing of any complexity at all. It's just a rah-rah carryover from reflexively rooting for their hometown high school football team. Intellectually pathetic.

Ok. Keep telling yourself that.
