Go to Best Buy, look in the phone section. The new pagers are labeled "cell phones." Give the number out to your friends and just never answer the phone.

they have a huge selection at both dart drug and peoples. they are right next to the daisy wheel printers for that new comodore 64 computer. and up at the register they have this cool puzzle they call a rubiks cube.. TIME MACHINE TIME MACHINE.....
I actually use one - at work. Hospitals all around the area still use them. We page doctors, use them for bed assignments.... I guess the docs prefer pagers because they can call back when they are not with a patient. I never thought I'd see a pager again after 1997.

If you get your pager at Hecht's you can get six months same as cash as long as you charge it on your Washington shopping plate or central charge.
If all you have is a Bankameracard or a Master Charge it's still a pretty good deal.

You know what would be cool? It would be cool if you could use a cell phone for that kind of thing. Like if you could send a short message to someone's phone, but not voice--like words, you know? And you could put all the info on a bed assignment or whatever in words and it would go to the other person's phone. Of course the phone would have to have a little screen on it that could display words. But anyway, with this information (let's call it "text") going right to someone's cell phone, then they could read it at their leisure, like when they're not with a patient. If someone could figure out how to do this with phones, it would be really awesome. It would probably be pretty popular, and I bet soon everyone would starting talking about "textifying" messages to people or something. It would totally get rid of the need to carry a pager AND a phone.
