I'm not sure if anyone is interested in rallying, but I've known about the Oakland Acres RallyX for quite a while, but I never bothered going. Well, I went today and it was an absolute blast. It's in Orange, VA which is a bit of a drive, but well worth it. I'm entering my beater in the next event (about a month out) and I'm wondering if anyone else here is interested in it?

Definitely sounds fun, but... I don't have a beater to take to the event and I sure as heck am not taking my daily!

Looks like the rearview mirror is all cockeyed and fucked up.

That's not my car, just someone I was shooting pictures of. I drive an older legacy.

The mirror is pushed back because when you're on the course you want all of your attention directed forward. There's no point in knowing what's BEHIND you, and having the scenery flashing in the mirror right in the corner of your eye can be distracting.

$45 pre-register, $55 day-of. Gets you 8 runs over the course of the day.

Not a bad price... if I wasn't so scared I'd actually crash my car, I'd probably do it. haha.

I'll stick with autocrossing for now.. maybe in a couple of years!

Best part is, there's nothing to crash into except some dust-covered reeds. Come down and give it a shot. :)
