What Happened to Matt Defazio?

Did Matt Defazio from WMAL get fired/replaced, or is he just on vacation?

While listening one day I heard this new voice in Defazio's usual traffic spot w/ Larry O' Connor, something Rodriguez, and the new guy has been on every day since.

I didn't hear any explanation about it either, but I just might've missed it.

Does anyone know what happened to Matt Defazio from WMAL?

He was struck by a tractor trailer while walking across the beltway during rush hour traffic

Thanks for the only actual helpful reply! That's interesting; I haven't been able to find any info on him elsewhere so I hope he survived that sunken ship.

GP9UM
Lisa Baden in, Matt Defazio out.

Yeah, I think it's about traffic reporting
being part of a conglomerate that leases
itself to radio stations.

Lisa Baden was total WTOP until Cumulus
or something or other changed the contract
Either way, Matt D. is prob somewhere
else on a new contract.
