You're thinking of
DXM. DZK is one of those rappers that is about to spur a revolution in Hip-Hop and Rap music. Together with other talented poets like
Sage Francis, DZK will bring raps with intellect and substance to a place where 50 cent currently raps about guns, Nelly raps about shoes and Mike Jones raps about himself.
In the olden days of rap all listeners were under-educated black kids where the only thing that determined if a song would sell was lyrics about bitches and guns and a beat you could dance to. Unfortunately many other genres are failing in the wake of the hip-hop revolution of the late 90's (note the termination of WHFS as a prime example). This leaves a huge base of music listeners with nothing that really suits their tastes; so they grudgingly listen to the Top 40 crap on the radio and seek out their own musical styles on the wonderful world of the internet.
It may not happen in the next month; it takes quite a bit of time for a goliath such as Clear Channel to notice new demand, but I assure you that rap will be forever changed by artists like DZK who will destroy the traditional barriers such as rappers have to be black and raps can't have any underlying meaning. Kanye West is a good stepping stone, and the fact that he is able to rap alongside gangsters is a testament to the next hip-hop revolution.
And for all of you that are going what the HELL does this have to do with Fairfax County, DZK lives in Vienna and graduated from James Madison HS in 1998. See the thread: "
Rap artist from Fairfax (graduated '98 from James Madison)" for more details.
