If Amazon comes to the DMV

If Amazon and 50K jobs come to the DMV it will be horrible for this area.
Traffic will be even more of a nightmare.

Can you say inflation! Yes, property values will go up but many will not afford to even buy a house. The cost of living will rise significantly.
Schools will overcrowded.

What real positives will come from Amazon opening a facility here? What?

Not coming to the DMV

Charlotte or Atlanta will get it.

There is no labor here to staff Amazon II

Requires low skill/low hourly rate employees

There's nowhere near enough room in all of the Department of Motor Vehicles branches combined to accommodate the new Amazon headquarters. That's a terrible plan.

I agree with the last post. We dont have nearly enough space here at the DMV to accommodate everyone. Can you imagine the line just for the restrooms? At least maybe you could pick up your package while you waited for your number to be called .

Amazon is not going to employ 50,000 employees in a single location. Certainly not in Northern Virginia.

There really won’t be space in the DMV for Amazon when according to a poster the other day they are also putting apartments in the DMV. Will there be enough room for me to renew my tags?

It isn't so much "in order to fill vacancies" as it is belated recognition of the fact that zero-tolerance on recreational drug use was a horrible idea to begin with.

And schools will be overcrowded and more strip malls will have to be built (more Starbucks, 7-11's, and Dollar Trees), and all the other horrible things that sky-is-falling, head-in-the-past magpies are forever carrying on about will happen!!! Either that or nobody will really notice very much and life will basically just go on as usual.

The point is that there is nothing for grown-ups to fear in Amazon's coming or in its not coming.
